there are lots of moms here who might have advice about this.

personally i don't see why not. so long as you are sure that it hasn't gone off kombucha certainly isn't strong enough to harm you at any time in my opinion.

I've heard that it's fine if you always drink it, but if you haven't had it in the past or not very often, you shouldn't b/c you'll detox too much for the baby to handle.

A lot of people get wired off of it. Makes me wonder.

some people like to drink it when it's still sweet, if it's consumed too early it's still full of sugar, that might explain the getting wired part.

Could the wired feeling be from the tea in it?

NO I would not use it while pregnant. You should always be carefull with herbs or aromaoils you use while preganant. No need to risk the health of you baby. I would advise you to get a hold of a book about herbs that is safe while pregnant, there is not many that are.
Herbs and essencial oils can be compared with medicine specialy when it comes to pregnant women and children. So ask someone who is educated in this or consult a book about the subject. What seams like harmless and safe for "normal" people might not be while pregnant or for children. So..... to be on the safe side check it out before you take it.

Just a friendly advice :)

I would also say NO. Since it is fermented it may contain a trace amount of alcohol (less than 0.5%). Any amount of alcohol should be avoided when pregnant.

here's what it says on westonaprice

<<As for kombucha, what I tell pregnant women is that if you have been drinking kombucha with no problem, it is fine and very healthy to drink it while pregnant. Occasionally someone has a bad reaction to kombucha and you would not want that to happen while pregnant, but if you have been drinking it all along, fine if you are pregnant.>>

it ISN'T otherwise contraindicated for pregnancy (many herbs and oils are).

here's the wiki info on it
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kombucha

and what the mayo clinic has to say

i think there are many other things to drink that are very health-giving such as fresh juices. if you are in doubt about it try something else.
