I am puzzled and amazed about something that happened to me today. I have been 100% raw for just over 2 weeks and have lost 20 lbs and feel amazing.

What happened today was I spilt a fair amount of boiling water over my hand and I can't get over the fact that nothing happened! Not a thing no redness, no tingle, no burn, nothing. Not even a hint that the water had been there.

I am just so confused. Has anything like this happened to anyone else. It was like a miracle I just don't understand it. Has my body developed a protective layer against scalds? Why did I not feel any pain?

That's an amazing situation and not one I've heard before.

I do know that if you apply lavender essential oil to a burn it will keep it from scaring.

I've never heard of that before, but our bodies do some pretty amazing and unexpected things . . . especially on raw :) .

Wow. That IS amazing...I'm glad you're not hurt!

And now I will resist the impulse to go pour hot water on my hand.

Very intriguing. :)

have you, by any chance, been eating a lot of tomatoes? i know they are very healing for the skin.

although i have no idea why you wouldn't feel a burn...

maybe raw food filled you with so much life energy and positive emotions that your body just "decided" to not get burned? haha!! wouldn't that be awesome :)

That's amazing by the way !!

Two Weeks and 20 lbs??

I used to carry a hugh amount of fluid. Hmmm possibly 20lbs worth. My feet and ankles were always so big I hid them under trousers. If I pressed my ankles, knees, legs and stomach it would leave an indentation.

Bending forward was painful and I couldn't be on my knees for a second without them feeling really sore.

It seems cooked food prevented me from releasing fluid I have no idea why but I have suffered for years and could never find a cure. I can now spend hours marvelling at the fact that there was ankles under all that flab.

The fluid has made me look fatter than what I am but the discomfort made me so miserable.

No diet I have ever followed has released that fluid and for some reason it makes me feel quite emotional.

So it is mostly water loss but much needed water loss. Now its the fats turn :)

Please don't do that  mind you I have been tempted to do it again in case I imaged it :p

It definately happened as weird as it sounds. I dried my hand, I was out so couldn't run it under cold water. I was in a cafe and was about to ask for a napkin soaked in cold water and realised there was no pain. I then investigated my hand and there was absolutely no sign what so ever!!

It must be due to eating raw I can't think what else

Cooked food causes our bodies to retain water due to the damaged proteins filling up the lymph. That is why you loose so much water weight when you start raw. It's a sign our bodies aren't being poisioned any more.

20 pounds in 2 weeks is amazing. I have been slow in losing my 30+ in a year and still wanting to shed 15 more. Congr. I workout lots but then I eat lots and very little cooked however.

I spent hours in poison oak a couple weekends ago (not on purpose!!!) and didn't get a rash, whereas previously I would have been miserable. Same place, trying to get my goats back inside their fence. Spent the same amount of time there and picked up rocks that were sitting in poison oak and used them to stuff in places the goats were pushing out through just like last time. I was even wearing shorts again (again, not on purpose, that's just what I happened to be wearing when I saw the critters out). I do have a bump-less itchy spot inside my right wrist. That's all. I figure is since my other allergies have improved a lot, I am more resistant.

However, I did still cut myself with a knife, trip up the stairs and hit myself in the head last weekend so I'm afraid I am not cured of clutsiness. :D Roger Haaske and Brian Au both say people will become supermen and women if they eat raw, but it hasn't happened to me yet!
