i'm beginning a juice fast on monday, & im just looking for some suggestions for staple juices. i want to have sort of a day-to-day juice regiment, not too much odd variety. what juices have you had success with, or have had a relatively comfortable fast with?
thanks for reading, & thanks for your help.

On the Gerson Therapy (which is for people with cancer, who have to be very careful with what they put into their body) I was told that the only juice that can be kept in the refrigerator all day without much damage is carrot juice by itself. The bottle/jar should be totally full so there is no room for air at the top. They say that green juices should be drunk immediately. Carrot juice is great for your liver, which is the main organ for detox. If you are thinking about taking juice to work, I would take carrot juice and make other types of juices in the morning and evening for immediate consumption. They also say that you should never mix fruit and vegetables in one juice, with the exception of apple. Good luck with your fast. I'm starting one on Monday as well and hope to continue it at least for the entire month of September.

Thanks for this Thread Lambe, I find Carrot Juice can be cheap and filling. You can buy carrots in 25 and 50lb bags..
Emma T....Never heard of the Gerson Therapy but I am going to do research on it for a Friend of mine. Thanks for Sharing.

I agree with Spicyfull. I typically use carrot's in most all juices. I don't have any "must have's" as I simply go with whatever my body wants, is in season and on sale.

for me it's pineapple juice. i just love it. great for your liver. i juice a whole bunch of them and freeze the juice in jars. then take it out the night before and drink it the next day. really cuts down on my prep time.
also watermelon juice with the rind - loads of iron in it so add a touch of lime to assist your body to get all the iron out.
and then there's tomato... i looooove my tomato juice. i add curry, cayenne, paprika, kelp powder and a little salt. mmm mmm gooooood. that is my dinner every day.
of course i also juice apples with a dash of cinnamon - sometimes a cantaloupe - other times i just go through the fridge and find any fruit that the family hasn't eaten and is getting over ripe and i juice that baby up and drink it.
green juices are healing
fruit juices are cleansing
my body doesn't want green juices at this time but that doesn't mean yours won't. so remember to juice up those greens!

I cannot bring Myself to Juice a Pineapple, that is, the only juice I get from a Pineapple is the Juice in the Bowl and running down My arms. I just LOVE the Flesh Too much to juice it. Alessha.......I eat the Flesh off the Peel of the Pineapple. I can have a dozen and I will do the same. So Juice on My Friend, what about sending me the Flesh.:)
