Has anyone tried making buckwheat pasta with sprouted buckwheat and the Omega juicer? I am thinking it would create damp strands.

I'm quite sure you need gluten containing grains to make pasta, so it's impossible to make healthy pasta since gluten is both what makes it stick togheter and what makes it cause so many health problems. If you've ever made bread dough you know how sticky it becomes, that's the gluten that causes that.

Perhaps finely ground flax seeds with water would work as they too become sticky but do not have gluten.

You can buy pasta made of corn, rice, quinoa, beans or any combination thereof. Of course they are not raw.

Cooked soba noodles are made from buckwheat, I don't know if they add gluten some how. I would just try it, I was thinking of doing the same thing but with an actual pasta maker. Make some dough, put it through then possible dry it out with the dehydrator and rehydrate as needed?

Good point. I am wondering if that gel-like consistancy that buckwheat gets will help with this, as it seems similar to flax. I am going to try this tomorrow with some tomato sauce and let you all know how it goes.

I assume oyu mena "is gluten..." if so yes, many health problems and severe diseases can be caused by gluten. You can search "gluten" on www.naturalnews.com I remember one article they had that listed many of the health problems it can cause.

Gluten is essentially glue (that's why you can make glue from gluten containing flours).

It worked okay...they came out in strands, but mushed together again. I wouldn't recommend it....

But what about buckwheat tabouli?
