View Full Version : What's the deal with almonds?

hey all.......im kinda new to this raw lifestyle, and the subject of almonds is floatin' around...I thought you could buy raw almonds...or at least, I thought so. Does this mean that the "Raw" almonds I've been buying aren't really raw? Or for that matter, the raw almond butters? And if so, why is this? And is this true of other nuts/seeds? If this is true, then I'm PISSED.
Thank you for the info.

They are now pasteurized due to another salmonella scare (thanks to industrial farming techniques where the feces of animals are contaminating farmland). I bought some almonds direct from a farm that does not pasteurize...and you can get organic almonds. The link was posted on this site. It would be great if someone could post it again. I'm almost out and would love to order more.
