I'm devoutly raw vegan and I'm craving buffalo wings. Kinda sucks because I haven't eaten them in AWHILE. All these cravings hit after my fasting ended...I'm a fruit-eater and I'm not used to being unsatisfied by fruit.

No blender or food processor either.

Any ideas? I need that BUFFALO flavor, and crunch.

First of all, deep breaths. Think about what the conseuqences of giving into your craving will be. Is it really worth it? Is momentary pleasure worth the sickness that will follow? Make yourself a HUGE fruit salad, take a shower, call a friend, do whatever it takes...but DON'T give in!

thanks...I will NEVER give in! I know how poisonous the actual "buffalo wings" are for my body...

I just am looking for something to satisfy that taste/crunch. Maybe something with pumpkin seeds and pepper and tomato...rolled in a romaine leaf...I don't like seeds usually but I will make an exception in this case!

Why not mash an avocado with some pumpkin seeds, add various herbs and spices, and put it in that leaf? It must be really difficult not having a food processor or blender to make complex recipes =/

I've gotten used to it...I am a fruit-eater most of the time. And don't have many cravings...however, I have been juice/water fasting off and on for about a month and it seems to have activated some long-lost wanting for old SAD foods.

Put cayan pepper on raw cashew, that way you get the taste of fat, crunch and spicey. :D

how about making Alissa's Unchicken tenders and add buffalo wing type spices and dip in mock blue cheez or ranch??????? with carrot and celery sticks to go with it? Okay, now I'm hungry.

I think sea salt, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, lemon juice and olive oil would take care of the flavoring aspect.
For the crunchy factor, try coating carrots in the above ^^^^.
Be aware that no food, even the actual buffalo wings themselves, may satisfy your craving. If I were you, I would go for a long walk through the woods to take my mind off the craving. It really works for me . . . Best wishes!

GREAT IDEAS everyone! THANK YOU.

I'm gonna try those flavor suggestions for sure.

Right now; a cayenne-coated romaine salad with tomatoes is getting me by.

I would suggest you buy a cheap food processor and make a pate with the above seasonings rolled in a nori sheet or cabbage leaf. Even add an avacado, too, with some whole pumpkin seeds for the crunch factor!

so then next time you will have something you can make when this happens again! you might even look around on the net for one...maybe its out there!
dont restrict yourelf with foods that are raw... thats the great thing about raw... you can eat what you like when its all good for you. cant do THAT when you eat SAD

I got this recipe from a RAW cooking class I attended. Whenever I get the urge for chicken, I make this. I'm not sure if the poultry seasoning would be considerd RAW though.

*******”Fried Portabellas”*********

2. "Wet" Batter:

Pine Nuts (2 cups)
Pistachios (Raw) (1 cup)
Lemon or Lime Juice (1/2)

Salt
Olive Oil (1/4 cup)
Cayenne Pepper
Turmeric (1 teaspoon)
Preparation: Blend in Food Processor

3. Dry Ingredients (Flour):
Ground Flax Seeds
Seasonings: Sea Salt, oregano, red pepper, coriander, cumin, Black pepper, organic poultry seasoning.

Preparation: Put Olive Oil on Telflex Sheet. Dip portabella mushrooms in wet batter ingredients and then dry ingredients and place on Teleflex sheet. Dehydrate overnight.
