Hi, I'm trying to get more good carbs into my diet and I thought raw grains would help along with the fruit! Can anyone tell me what raw grains taste the best, easier to digest and easier to get?
Thanks have a fruitful day!

I've personally tried barley and oat groats and liked them both. They both digested well for me and didn't give me any joint pain. They both need to be chopped up in the FP to be really chewable--for me, anyway! My books say wheat berries are the tenderest soaked grain, so that is next on my try list. I've also got buckwheat, rye, and quinoa to try.

Buckwheat made into buckwheaties!!!!
(sprouted then dehydrated)
Also, check Alissa's book. I believe it's discussed in there.

Thanks I'll do some searching, but where do you both get your grains at? Sorry I forgot to ask that in my first thread! Thanks again!

I suggest Quinoa.
Soak it, sprout it, dry it and use it as the basis of a breakfast cereal.

i only really like oats and buckwheaties. sometimes i make chocolate buckwheaties by mixing in a cacao sauce before dehydrating the buckwheat and that is really yummy with some hazelnut milk! ..I tried making grawnola with sprouted spelt and seeds but failed as it ended up tasting strongly of blue cheese which didn't taste so good with my sweetened nut milk and bananas!

I tried sprouting oats once. They didn't sprout and made me sick. For those talking about oats, do yours sprout and, if so, where do you get them?

All my grains are from Whole Foods so far. I'm planning on getting some rolled oats for muesli for the winter. Right now, I don't need anything that heavy in the AM, but come the cooler weather, I know I will want muesli occasionally!
