I went to the Body Mind Spirit Expo in Chicago this weekend.. a lot of interesting alternative health information. And i attended a Prana Healing lecture- it is similar to Reiki (they both work on the human aura to balance and cure disease)...very interesting stuff.

Anyway, it was meant to be! What i learned with Prana Healing is that they say three major sources of prana (vital energy) are sun , air, and earth. "Trees and plants absorb so much prana from these sources that they exude an excess of it... Fresh fruit, raw vegetables and sprouts are good for health, probably more because of their high prana contect than their nutritional value"-

Yes, I think science can only explain so much and it's limited. I sense a lot of it works at a more metaphysical level.

just wanted to add this- here's one "energy healing" practicioner talking about it all..

"One striking pattern I've noticed in healing is how many young adults, teenagers, and children are showing up. I've seen many children who have been diagnosed with attention deficit disorder, hyperactivity, severe allergies, or autism. Since Pranic Healing works on all levels, it is possible to detect the roots of the problem in one or more of the child's subtle (non-physical) bodies. Many of these children I found to be unusually gifted, sensitive, and spiritually evolved in terms of the size and activity of their chakras. I had to refer to the research that has been done on "indigo children" and often counseled parents to be advocates for their kids in an education system that completely fails to comprehend them. I see miracles when originating causes are addressed. In some cases, the cause was food or medication. Drugs and fast food do terrible things to a young person's developing energy anatomy"

That's so true..food and medicine! Not so much genes or mysterious causes no one understands and tries to "battle"...food and medicine- how simple..

Another critical thing to keep in mind regarding children and ADD, is that TV is used so much as a babysitter.

Today, children's programming is designed with very fast edits. The means that rarely will a shot stay on a scene/character for longer than 3 seconds. So when the little rug rats are watching this action packed programming - and Heaven forbid if they are eating sugary/white flour foods on top of it - they are bouncing off the walls.

The kids then get into a school setting and people are perplexed as to why little Junior can't keep his attention for any extended period of time. No consideration is given to the fact that for the first 6 years of his formative life he's been conditioned to expect quick changes in the action. The kids don't have ADD - they are simply reacting to what they've been taught.

ADD is a cop out - as a shrink acquaintance once told me - "There are no new psychological diseases. Just new names so that insurance will cover them."
