Hi everyone,

I need to incorporate sea veggies in my diet but do not like the fishy taste, generally (never have my whole life). I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when I blended dulse leaves with kale and sesame seeds and nama shoyu and garlic and lemon and a touch of olive oil in FP, I didn't taste fish at all.

any other ideas that disguise fishiness like these?

hopefully eventually i'll aquire taste : )

thanks in advance!

I'm about to buy a shaker of laver, nori and sea lettuce flakes from naturalzing.com hoping if I put it in stuff that way, I won't taste it either! I'll let you know what happens, haha. :D

The flakes in my salads or over whatever dish I like. The powders in my smoothies. Nori in a cheezy roll up (or whatever I wanna roll up in it), and a lot of times just the dried hard (wakame or kombu) like pretzels.

I personnally LOVE the sea greens taste...

I love dulse. I can't believe how wonderful it is in salads. It's pricey so trying to find supplier where I can still enjoy it. I think one batch from Main Coast or Lance somebody. It's up in price lots. Haven't seen what I am looking for at Asian markets either. Help please!

I do love wakame too.

Hate Nori with 100+ raw sheets I can use up but won't sell. Need go for a nut free pate and stuff the sheets, gagging it down like a champ. I know it is beneficial to health.

I can't handle that marine taste of most sea vegetables. Wish I could. With dulse I only taste the saltiness. Love it in a salad. Soak it for a couple minutes, drain, chop and mix with iceberg lettuce, oil cured olives, sunflower seeds, cucumber, maybe some tomato, with a splash of vinegar and oil. All that water and salt coursing through my veins makes me feel like I've had a dip in the ocean. Very refreshing.

okay...but if I don't hear from you I'll assume you had some fishy taste and have gone to the neverneverland us fish-fraidy weirdos sometimes end up in, then I'm staying AWAY from it all.

(the dulse really wasn't bad in my salad, but i admit i only put a wee bit in)

i do like nori wrapped around raw vegan sushi at restaurants, but have yet to make it at home...i like how you're thinkiing here though: stuff it with cheese..yummm. what's a cheezy roll up?

wish i loved the sea greens taste like you...i know how good it is for you. wonder if blue-green algae will supplement it if i don't end up eating enough after all...hmmmm

like vegan said..it really is a love/hate thing.....probably psychological for me: fish taste evokes "do not eat" signals for some odd reason

as you can see, Moretta likes it and i like it wrapped around raw vegan sushi at restaurants too...in a strong sauce that covers (or tones down) the sharp taste of it....i don't know how people eat it alone from the sheets...bleck!

try it...let us know where you stand?
one things for sure: it is REALLY good for you mineral-wise
