Hey J ray! Welcome!

I personally do not drink coffee (for obvious/discussed here reasons) or tea. I know others that do however - personal choice.

Not sure what you mean about the ACV breaking down or "cooking" the food. It's the only vinegar that is fermented and not processed...

You should get Alissa's book and DVDs - excellent tools to help one on their raw journey. LOTS of questions answered.

raw apple cider vinegar is fine (also known as ACV here on rft.com)

coffee and tea are personal choice.

for me, I drink herbal and green teas. I make suntea from unroasted/green mate'. On a rare occasion I will brew some organic coffee, cool it in the fridge, then make (raw) sunflower or sesame seed "milk" and make a sort of latte out of it.

This "diet" is not like Weight Watcher or South Beach where things are either black or white, in or out. It's a spectrum. AC does advocate 100% raw, and we cannot discuss anti-or non 100% topics, but don't beat yourself up or get so strict that you give up altogether. Find your comfort zone, then expand your understanding from there.

Best of Health to you, my friend!

If you can at all I would stay away from coffee. Tea is not so bad and a much better choice.

For me, I was addicted to coffee. I weaned myself off and switched to green tea, which I now brew in the sun. My goal is to gradually reduce the caffeine content by replacing some of the green tea with herbal tea until I don't really need it any more. I think that the green tea is closer to raw (or raw) than other teas which may have been roasted. Coffee is always roasted so it is definately not raw.

I gave up coffee and tea when I went raw (21 days ago). It was rough as I was very addicted. I feel much better -- and have a steady stream of energy through out the day. Now, my 'pick me up' in the morning has been a green smoothie.

A couple of months ago, I quit drinking coffee and switched to tea for about a month, and also drank herbal teas. I went mostly raw around the same time. Once I went 100% raw at the beginning of the month, I somehow sort of forgot about the tea. I just drink herbal teas every now and then.
