Hello! I am new to eating raw. I have been curious about it for years, but have only been raw for 11 days. I have fibromyalgia and am hoping that out of the many things I've tried to get well....this will be the thing that actually works! I would love to hear from other people w/ this illness who have had any experiences with raw helping them. As well as anybody's exciting experiences eating this way! I have been living with the awful effects of FM for almost 4 years. Can't wait to see if raw/living food is the cure. :)

I believe you can get well this way. I know many testimonies from an 85% raw diet at hacres.com, Hallelujah Diet, so why not here. Search box here for your condition and I know I have read of successes you can see here.

Feel great and glad you are taking charge of your health direction vs. giving it to others to manager.

My cousin has so many health problems and every time she writes it's like my mother coming as a flashback growing up with her constantly going to the doctor. My cousin, 6 months older, than this AARP person (50+ person) amazes me. I can't relate as I am doing Turbo Kickboxing, not gracefully due to my own coordination, but surely not quitting.

Hi, I have FM, & a bunch of other things goin' on, so I thought I'd jump in & share a little with you, to let you know that healing from FM is TOTALLY possible!

I began transitioning (again) to raw June 19th, did 100% a good chunk of July (doing the 30 day challenge here) & began a 100 day 100% raw commitment beginning August 1st.

Already my pain levels have decreased at least 50%, my IBS (which often comes with FM) has totally stopped, (except when I ate 2 non-raw meals & 2 non-raw snacks, then it took days to go away again after returning to raw)...

Also, my brain fog is a LOT better, I sleep better, (though still can't always get to sleep, but when I do, it's much more restorative!) & every day, the cloud of pain & low energy that followed me everywhere is lifting more!

I honestly don't know how much is due to raw, & how much is due to getting 52 pounds off my body!

I just know I want to get off dissability, & even though I still have a long way to go, I want to encourage you that RAW really does make a difference!!!

It's not just that the food is healing/health-giving, it's that it enables your body to heal itself, as it was created to do!

& it's also what you STOP putting into your body that changes everything! Meat, dairy, sugar, & especially grains being gone from your diet makes a HUGE difference!!!

Anyways, I hope that helps, & encourages you to give it time, & give it a chance to work for you....cuz I guarantee you, it will!!!!

P.S. Movement every day is also a key ingredient in your healing...& pacing yourself, not over-doing it, yet still pushing yourself just a little more each week...I've resisted doing this for years, cuz it always hurt too much, & I couldn't help overdoing it, but I'm finally learning, & making myself do less than I feel like I can do!
Then I can still move the next day!
I FINALLY figured it out! Lol!

Thank you so much for sharing! I'm happy to hear that you are doing better. It gives me hope. How long did it take for you to start feeling the effects of raw food?

Welcome! For me? My healing was instant. But, every BODY is different. If you jump in 100% it will be faster then still eating SAD/CRAP foods and doing some raw.

I strongly suggest buying Alissa's book and DVDs if you don't already have them. It's got over 300 recipes in it and TONS of information. Many, many questions answered in that book.
