It's important to realize that dehydration temperature is just slightly above normal room temperature, like a hot summer day. Also, are you sure you set the thermostat to around 105? That's what I normally use.
You can temporarely set it to 155 and let it run a few minutes and then the warmth should be noticeable, this would confirm that your heating element is working.

If you haven't figured it out by Monday, contact the company.
 We have done everything .sending it back and getting our money back, bad company and hard to deal with.i am thinking of getting one from Alissa's store when i get my money back, hopefully will have a better machine.

Alissa sells the Excalibur.
I've had no problems with Excalibur and recommend them highly. Did you get the name of the person you dealt with?

You say you've "done fruits". What does that mean? You dehydrated fruit with no heat? I'm confused.
If you send me your email address, I'll forward it to the owner of the company. He read this and is as confused as I am about the problem.

So you are just getting cool air circulating? My Excalibur spits out so much heat even at low temperatures it is unbelievable. Right now peaches and fruit leather continue to dry.

Hi Revvell
Sorry that this was confusing but Gary was trying to help me resolve this issue. I ordered the excalibur from amazon.com from a company called Debnroo. WHAT A NIGHTMARE that company AND excalibur are. The customer service info from both companies was so inconsistent and it was pretty obvious that they were both giving me the run around and passing the buck back to me each time We received a brand new machine that would not heat and would only blow. Excablibur would have sent me the replacement part but gee, why should I have to spend time being a mechanic on a new machine? No thanks. I ended up having to spend forty dollars in return shipping which neither company will reimburse. I've never received such horrible customer service from an online retailer. Apparently this is a common problem with these machines and based on what I just went through and learned, I would recommend buying the machine directly from excalibur because you get a ten year warranty and you don't have to deal with the middleman madness.
Thanks, Lizzie

Lizzie,
I sent your email to the owner of Excalibur. Whether he can do anything, I don't know. Part of the problem is Debnroo may not be a recognized Excalibur dealer. I don't know.
As far as this being a common problem with the "d", this is the first I've heard of it and I've been in the "community" for about 12 years. Not that it doesn't happen but, I've just not heard of it.
I'm still curious as to how you could dry fruit with no heat.
Anyway, let's see what happens.
Hope whatever you do next works out for you.

G42: I would recommend editing your message and removing your email address immediately, many programs search web pages for email addresses like that and start sending thousands and thousands of spam emails, so I'd recommend removing it ASAP before it's too late.
Also, did you set it on 155 degrees for maybe 15-30 minutes to see if it makes heat? On a warm/hot day you won't feel much heat at all when set on 105 as that's barely above a warm summer day.
Thanks raweater for the email thing, and Revvell thanks for the support.when we got the machine it would heat up for the fruit we made.i have so many tomotoes with three plants which are heirloom plants, and lots of sweet peppers.we will have a new machine from excailibur in a few days with a 10 year warr. hope it gets here soon for the early fall crop.:D
