Hi Toots, there are millions of variations for green smoothies. Get creative. Generally they include greens and fruits. 2:1 ratio I think or higher on the greens side.
For my green smoothies I use:
Bunch of kale
Handful of spinach
Apple
Banana
Barley grass
Hemp protein
Coconut oil

Sometimes I add celery juice and I vary the greens.

Have fun!

There is no hard and fast rules. I usually have 1/3rd fruit 2/3rd greens. My favorite greens are spinach and parsley (although parsley causes heart burn with my husband).

My favorite green smootie recipe

frozen organic blueberries
1 ripe bananna
spinache
squirt of agave (i like things sweet)

simple and yummy

Don't forget to get the book Green for Life. Lots of recipes.

the smoothie i have every day is

frozen bananas
frozen other fruit - either strawberries or peaches
water
juice of oranges
nuts - cashews or walnut or sunflower
spinach
celery sometimes
ill add ice to make it thicker so that i can chew it, eat it, rather than drink it..it keeps me fuller whether its mentally or physically...
i also sometimes add cinnamon.

its made me addicted to smoothies. they are the easiest way to eat stay raw and get full all at the same time. theyve saved me through the past few weeks!

Here's my daily...

1 apple
couple inches cucumber
2 stalks celery
2 -3 c. spinach
juice half lemon and half lime
1 Tbsp raw apple cider vinegar
1 tsp raw honey
1 c. water

I don't blend it smooth as I like it a bit crunchy and drink it as well as use a spoon. Makes 3 - 4 cups and I drink/eat it in one sitting. Very filling and refreshing. I actually crave it which is weird as I have never craved veggies. And I have no heartburn anymore since adding the apple cider vinegar.

My favorite is 1/2 large cucumber or one or two baby cukes, large handfull of baby spinach, 1 c. frozen mango and water to thin as needed (I ususally use 1/2 cup to 1 cup (I like my smoothies on the thin side. I ocaisionally add some hemp protein powder, but I like the taste better without it.

BTW there is a thread around there that has 70 GS recipes.
