i have a bag and really like the taste of it... i make a salad dressing with it and sometimes use it in smoothies, but would love more ideas. what is your favorite thing to do with mesquite powder?

I know Matt Monarch was telling me he likes to put it in mushed bananas
with goji's or blended apples mixed with flax.

I have some but I never use it... unless I'm making raw 'bars'. I put everything but the kitchen sink in them... dehydrate them... and they are like granola bars.

thanks aleesha. :) did you know that i don't like bananas? wonder if i'll like them with mesquite though. maybe mesquite and cinnamon.

i've never tried to make bars before... i think i'll have an experimenting day tomorrow in the kitchen.

I add it to my "dessert" shakes to sweeten them up....my shakes consist of the milk and meat of a young coconut, raw cacao powder, mesquite, and some coconut oil all blended up...then I grate some mature coconut over top and sprinkle the mixture with mesquite and sometimes some cacao nibs....Tastes like melted soft serve chocolate ice cream to me....

Whenever I make anything with cacao, I add mesquite as well because mesquite is high in lysine, which balances the arginine in cacao...lots of unbalanced arginine=cold sores for me

I just found this here: http://therawkitchen.blogspot.com/2008/01/low-glycemic-treats.html

"low-glycemic breakfasts consists of the following:
Vanilla Hemp (or Almond) Milk (Blend 1.5C water with 0.5C soaked hemp seeds + 1 vanilla pod, and strain)
A couple of handfuls of buckwheaties
A couple of handfuls of goji berries and blueberries
A tablespoon of Lucuma and/or Mesquite powder
A sprinkling of Maca and a pinch of Suma
all swirled together in a bowl......"
