looks like i might have access to a bunch of these....good addition to the diet because i cant afford organic fruit here.... i remember reading a post the other day and someone mentioned they loved rose hips... how do you eat them? do you have to wait until theyre "ripe"? how do you know? last summer i tried eating some and just got a mouthful of seeds. ick. but i know theyre supposed to be really good for you, so...

I used to eat them all the time when I had access to them. Just eat them as you would berries. They are ripe when they are plump (but firm) and red in color. If you get them dried they should be a bit chewy in texture, if they are REALLY dried the most you can do with them is make tea or try to soak them.

Its funny, I was thinking about roses this morning. I spent some time googling recipes & ways to eat them. Most everything I found said to either cook them or put them in a salad.
I'm still searching.
