Well, it's been a whole year since this journey began. I was so sick a year ago and now I am so full of health! What a huge transformation I've gone through... layers and layers of fat, emotions and dis-ease stripped from my body and what is left is thin, healthy and so much happier than my self a year ago.

I'm not including before pics in this thread... cause honestly, who cares where I began... it's where I am in this moment that really counts. (Besides if you reaaaaally want to see my before, you are more than welcome to check out my before and during thread (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=33861))

So... here's my photo shoot from today. My talented daughter took the pics!

Congrats on your 1 year anniversary and huge weight loss. I know you feel like a different person.

How did you hear about raw foods?

A friend suggested I do a juice feast to assist me with my health. I felt great but as soon I went back to eating, I felt like crap... so I fasted again but this time I started to investigate what I could do on permanent basis to continue feeling great.

And... voila... I found raw foods!

...and what a cute cat...

145 pounds, 2900 posts = 20 posts per pound. I have to get cracking!

That is fabulous!!! A real celebration to new life for sure. I am jumping for joy with you and all here. What a great testimony!!!!!!!!!!!! So exciting!

Okay, eating just raw? Eating all you want? My gosh. You can save many souls who wish to avoid surgeries, no judgment on those who did this or will, but those who want a more natural approach!

4 years ago I had a size 12 dress that I bought locally. It was beautiful and plans were for son's wedding. So I had 2 dresses to choose from. One I kept ticket on. They wanted to give me 410 or was it $12 few months back at Kohl's (store). Well, cleaning up (it pays dividends), receipt appeared and last night got $19+ back from the dress.

I tried on dress a few months back too and it is FALLing off and way to big. It is pretty but not for this body. I'm going down in size and pounds. Pounds have remained slow, but was it you who gave up bananas and oil?

thanks lav... my fasting buddy!

ez, swish, rose, renee, thank you so much

emma... hahahaha good one... yup today only... release a pound for every twenty posts LOL

carol, i fully 100% believe in Alissa's philosophy... EAT EAT EAT. i don't limit anything... nothing at all. i eat everything i want, whenever i want (except when i'm fasting obviously). i loooove bananas and oil! as time goes on... i simply follow my body's flow. if it asks for fruit, i eat fruit, kale salad... then kale salad it is.

right now... it's pineapple juice :)

i've been having such a down week... tomorrow is actually my anniversary but i decided since the sun actually came out for the first time all week, that i'd do the picks and share it today. hope no one minds i was a little premature in my sharing *blush*

I love the yoga poses - you can really tell how full of life you are! How amazing that you lost all that weight in a year! What a great gift you gave to yourself.

P.S. I also love your cat! :) My two cats always try to "help" me exercise (i.e. get underfoot) and I got a chuckle when I saw that picture.

Keep up the great work!

doc, beckx, RH and moretta... thanks!!!

I actually think I look much slimmer IRL than in the pics... but that could simply be my perception of Self. ;)

I've always loved really fitted clothing. Tight leggings... rather than a relaxed fit. It's nice to feel good in them again.

And even though I'm extremely happily married... I love that men look at me now... (my hubby loves it as well)... hubby just beams as if to say, "yup, she's my wife". :)

i wanted to share these pics with everyone (as you must all be getting so sick of seeing my pics as i've shared many over the months) - so people new to raw can see the potential. i am simply one of many who have this exact same experience. great health gain, lots of weight release... HUGE happiness as the layers of 'yuck' slip off of us and we find our true happy selves again.

rawk on!!!

I actually think I look much slimmer IRL than in the pics... but that could simply be my perception of Self.

You do, I'm sure - cameras generally add 10lbs.+ visually to a figure! (Take it from someone who has to stay "underweight" in order to keep up with print modeling! LOL)

Jenifae, thank you so much for your kind words. I am a huge positive influence to my Self... which is my number one priority. :P

Starfire, he is a smart smart man indeed. I can't begin to express how much I love him... I am very very blessed that he's chosen to be my hubby in this life... can't imagine being without him.

Alisha, i read in your blog that you have been doing yoga. Did you start doing this in about the time that you went raw?

Again, this is amazing the transformation that you have done in one year. Congratulations and you deserve all the happiness it brings you.

Thanks Raw Angel, yes I started yoga in Sept last year. Always wanted to do it, but never did. It was very hard to do and I didn't really like it till I released some weight... then I loved it and now I'm addicted!

Zella, I am soooooo happy. It's nice to be healthy!

RawKnister, I love being a butterfly! Finally out of that 145 pound caccoon!!!

Green Diva, when guys tell me how great I look... or flirt with me... I love it. Yup I'm very happily married but it's nice to know I'm attractive on the outside again.

Tri, my hubby loves that dress as well cause my boobs fall out of it every few minutes LOL

What a light you are Aleesha! SO radiant and healthy and beautiful....I am so very proud of and so very happy for you...Enjoy and here's to great health..'clink clink'! :D love, Deb

Deb, you know how important you are to me... this means so much... *clink clink*

I always wondered if that was just something people said... cause when I look in the mirror and then in the pics I think... "really? I thought I was slimmer?" LOL

Heather, it's an honour to inspire others... an absolute honour!

Aleesha-WOW, sister. You are a total inspiration. ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY FIVE POUNDS!!!! That's AMAZING!

You know what I did once-I got 75 lbs of food, such as a 50 lbs bag of rice, several bags of potatoes, etc. until I 75 lbs of food sitting in my kitchen and then I just stared at it. I coudln't figure out how all of thatwas strapped to my body and I still managed to get around. You have TWICE that!!!!

Is there another word for miraculous inspiration? Yes-it's ALEESHA!

Aleesha Sattva
08-26-2008, 03:25 PM

You have released a 145 lb person if you think about it. Perhaps it's your old self that you have shed. That's pretty cool if you look at it that way. I mean WOW.

Aleesha!!! Oh my!!!! I'm in AWE!!!! TOTAL AWE!!!!!

You've always inspired me soooooooo much, but WOW!!!!!

I've been soooo busy at RawFu (100 day challenge, I'm doing 100% raw!) I haven't been here much lately, but, boy, did I pick the right day to pop in again!!!!

& I confess, I went over & looked at your before pics! (Go look, everyone!!!)
What an astounding transformation!!!!

I can't wait till I have pics worthy of sharing as "before" & "during", at least! Soon, I hope!
I'm down 52 lbs now, but still have soooo far to go that no-one even really notices...they can see I can move easier, & be on my feet longer, but that's about it, so far...*sigh*...Oh, well! I'm just gonna keep on keepin' on, & not let ANYTHING slow me down or stop me this time!!!

Thanks again for sharing....especially your jammy picture! You should take one with you actually wearing it now! & do you have one wearing it before?

It's amazing how much everything changes, isn't it? Already, I'm soooo full of energy, & in so much less pain, & am amazed at what I can already do that I couldn't a few short months ago!

Keep goin' with raw, everyone!!!
IT REALLY DOES TRANSFORM, AS ALEESHA HAS CLEARLY PROVEN!!!

Aleesha Sattva
08-27-2008, 10:22 AM
I think the most important thing about this journey for me... is that it was EASY! It wasn't work at all. I simply ate raw. That's it. Followed what Alissa says... eat raw... 100% raw... whatever you want, however much you want. Allow your body to lead.

And look at me... thanks Alissa!!!
Thanks all of YOU as you all assisted me with the inspiration to keep on staying raw.
And most of all... thanks to myself... for doing it. Cause ultimately, no matter how much info and support we have... WE have to make the decision and choice to eat the raw foods. WE have to choose to not put cooked food into our mouths.

And obviously... it works!

I'll look for a pic of my pjs before... my Mom is here for a visit so it'll have to wait. She's my priority right now. (she's sleeping so I'm doing a quick check in)

(((hugs))) to you all!!!

I am an inspiration... to myself. As I sit and look in the mirror... I love the person who is looking back at me. Fat or thin, healthy or unhealthy... but --- when I am looking at a healthy person who is raw... the glow I see warms my heart and inspires me to keep on this path.

So look to others to inspire yourself - but be sure to also look in the mirror!

145 pounds, 2900 posts = 20 posts per pound. I have to get cracking!

LOL, what a way to look at it! I guess I'd better start posting more, too!

And Aleesha, the picture of you holding up your night shirt is so amazing I'm going to have to forward the picture to a friend if you don't mind. OMG. You could fit at least two or three of you in that shirt!!!

Aleesha Sattva
08-29-2008, 10:35 AM
Go ahead and forward it... I don't mind at all!

And you know... although it was a joke about the pounds and posts... I believe 100% that posting here, reading the threads and finding the support I have, has directly related to how much weight I've released and how much health I've gained. So ya... get posting!!!
