The above link is pretty good because it lists a ton of fruits and veggies and all of their beneficial properties. We'll just have to ignore the fact that seafood, meats and dairy are also listed as "the world's healthiest foods" (including the recipees for cooked food:eek: ) Take a look if you get a chance. Here' s what surprised me

-agave wasn't listed under the "natural sweetners" category
-I thought there should have been way more "nuts and seeds" in that
category
- I was surprised about "soy sauce" being listed in the "other" category
-overall, I can think of a great deal more veggies and fruits that deserve to be
ranked among "the world's healthiest foods"
-spices and herbs category could have been broader in my opinion
-not sure how i feel about everything in the beans & legumes section in terms of being rated "the world's healthiest"

The thing I did like about this link was that I was able to click on the fruit or veggie of my choice and see a breakdown of its nutritional componnents. I'll have to do more research...if someone knows of a raw link or another link that provides this type of info please share. I guess I should keep in mind that it is not a raw vegan website but a nonprofit site whose focus is providing nutritonal information on "the world's healthiest" foods based on their criteria for determination....I'm working on compiling all of my info into a resource guide for others..looking for really legit stuff

So if anyone checks this site out, what do you think they missed the boat on? In other words, what veggies or fruits should be among the ranks of "the world's healthiest foods"?

back to researching

Blackberries should be part of the fruits. I believe they're higher in antioxidants than blueberries, strawberries, or raspberries.

More nuts and seeds should be added to the nuts and seeds category.

The natural sweeteners should be changed.

I think that the natural sweeteners should be removed because none of them could be classed as a wholefood and nobody has yet determined what effect non wholefoods have on the body
I do have some agave in my kitchen that I thought would be helpfull during initial transition but I now realise that I never needed it and only added it because it was there. I have not used it for a couple of years and never again will.
Even without it I sometimes feel "over sugared" and buy dragon fruit to have a non sweet fruit at hand.
