View Full Version : Rooibos Tea
Who drinks Rooibos tea? How often do you drink it? Do you drink it plain or with a sweetner?
Which is your favorite red or green?
I love Celestrial Seasonings - Madagascar vanilla red.

I love rooibos! I've been drinking iced lately with agave nectar. I enjoy it rooibos more than black and green tea.
healthdiva, have you noticed any improvements in your overall health?

I drink a tea named "Pied Cow Chai". It's a red rooibos with chai spices that comes from a local tea shop. I love it! :D
Sometimes plain, sometimes with honey and whipped almond milk, topped with nutmeg. Used it to break my coffee addiction.
It's also great with agave and lemon, on ice.

Roobios Chai sounds wonderful! I just googled it and found some tea companies that sell it! Gonna have to pick up some of that!!

As a cooked vegan, I used to drink rooibos tea every morning. I couldn't live without it.
Since going raw, I haven't had the desire for it. My body probably is already getting enough antioxidants from fruits and isn't asking for extra from the tea.
I know this is a bit unrelated but I just wanted to share my experience.

I actually stopped drinking tea about 2 months ago but have recently gone back to drinking it once in a while... is tea considered "raw"?

I used to drink everything with sugar, so now I don't have the sugar highs and lows. I'm also caffeine sensitive sometimes so the fact that rooibos is caffeine free is a plus. Also all the antioxidants.
I've been in the habit lately of meeting up with people at tea houses, coffees shops or bars instead of restaurants. At the bars, it's either mineral water or hot tea (they never seem to have rooibos but do always have some sort of fruit tea)... but at the teahouses, that's my fave! I just a couple days ago tried a rooibos with some chocolate and mint. Mmmmm. It inspired me to buy some for home (but this was with blueberries not chocolate/mint). :)
www.teavana.com has a wonderful selection of rooibos teas. I used to order from them when I was in the States, loved their chai. Mmmm.
I don't usually drink it with sweetener because I don't want to lug agave or honey to a restaurant. At home, sometimes I use agave.

Eva...for a sweetner I carry Stevia with me. They make it in either drop formula or in little packets like a sugar packet would be. This has worked very well for when we are out.
