Can I freeze tomatoes?

I have 8 very well-laden tomato plants in my backyard. I've always blanched tomatoes, frozen them, and then used them in soups and sauces. Since I'm trying (again!) to eat raw, how can I still eat all of my beautiful tomatoes? Can they be frozen without blanching? And what exactly would one DO with mushy, thawed out raw tomatoes?

I always share my vegetables with everyone around me, and if necessary I'll find people happy to take all of these tomatoes off my hands...but the garden is supposed to help me save money, so I'd like to use at least SOME of it if I can!

Blend them prior to freezing & store in glass containers. Use in soups, smoothies, salsa, other recipes.

I do it w/greens all the time.

I don't blend mine, I freeze them whole and they have always been fine.

Greens are also good to freeze. My parents have been doing this for years, as they have a good sized garden.

If you have a dehydrator I would dry them.

I'm picking all my tomatoes now and I can't eat them now because I am in the middle of a 28 day fast.
what I have been doing is dicing them and freezing them in containers.
I plan to defrost them and use them for either salsa (mix with corn, onion and avocado) or like a brushetta (mix with oil, garlic, basil, onion).
or they would be perfect for Alissa's chili recipe (which is fabulous by the way).
I wouldn't freeze them whole.
I'm thinking when they would defrost, it would be one fat soggy mess.
which you would end up dicing it probably anyway.
so I vote for dicing up first, then freezing.

This is awesome...my friend just gave me 6 BEAUTIFUL tomatoes from a home garden.

I'm fasting too at the moment, so I was wondering if I could freeze them earlier, haha.
