Wanting feedback as to what is the best food processor. I've read user reviews that suggest one brand is hard to clean, another leaks, etc.

Any feedback?

I started out with a Hamilton Beach Big Mouth (14 cup capacity), but it broke twice. The first time the company replaced the lid (which broke off) and the second time I decided - okay, time to bite the bullet and get a better one. I also didn't like how food and juice and "stuff" would get up into places I could not clean. I always clean my appliance right away after using. NEVER, ever letting food sit on them.

I bought a Cuisinart 14 cup capacity FP and LOVE it!!!

I, too, have a 14-cup Cuisinart and love it. I plan to purchase additional blades, such as thin slice and thin shred.

Lucy, do you ever feel the need to use a smaller-bowl food processor? Sometimes, when I make a recipe that is not very large, the ingredients seem to wind up on the sides of the bowl and not mix too well without *help* from a spatula.

Nope, I've never felt that need to use a smaller capacity. I just scrape down the sides.

I love my Cuisinart though!

Nope, not at all. Love it. It's quiet and cleans easily. I didn't get the MOST expensive, nor the cheapest. In between...

I've had a black and decker, hamilton beach and now the wonderful and beautiful cuisenart. The other were fine and great also but I do have to say that I love the cuisenart....it does a little bit better job and it's even a bit more quiet....I can even make nut butters with it. I got mine for Christmas...it was at Costco for 100.00

I have a Kitchen Aid. I don't recall seeing any stuff in the handle. (I will look when I get home). My model has a smaller container for little batches of stuff like salsa. I like that mine has a lot of different disks.

I used to have a Braun for years, but it finally wore out. I couldn't find another one. :( I LOVED that one bacause it had a variable speed.

I have a Cuisinart DLC-X, the largest model. It holds roughly a gallon in the work bowl. I have had it since the late 80's, have a pile of cutting discs, etc. Can't count the amount of work done on it, including kneading dough. No belts, stainless steel shaft from motor to blades. Costs about $800 now but worth every penny. On my third work bowl!
