And how do i make it? Since I am pregnant I need FAST food in the morning or I get sick. If its healthy but takes too long to make I start scarfing down cereal or pop tarts...What is the easiest healthiest foods besides fruit? Fruit does not work on morning sickness.. I need something heavy to hit my stomach to stop the morning sickness. A green smoothie sounds good to me for some reason.

wow. I feel for ya.
I was there. Mcdonalds egg mcmuffins. Almost every morning. The only way to stop the sickness. And I had to stop it cause I had to be at work and be all nice. I wonder if green smoothies would work at that stage. I don't know if I would have craved something like that. I mean...I would now..if I were to get preggers (knock on wood).
If it doesn't work and it's too much. I would say just have a fresh fruit smoothie and leave out the greens or do very little. So you will actually drink it. It a tough one because it doesn't seem like you ate that healthy before preggers. You also don't want to detox into your baby's system.
If it were me, in that stage I was in. And to know what I know now...I would start with a smoothie..very little greens. And or some fresh juice. But little bits at a time so you aren't detoxing so fast it gives the baby a big dose of what you been carrying around in your body.
I don't want to discourage you..but to guide you in the correct way of transitioning when you are pregnant. Detox can be a powerful thing. As I have discovered.
Hope this helps.

Zella,
It's fruits which are cleansing and greens that are healing... so wouldn't it be better for her to do it the other way around? Although honestly... from what I've experienced and my hubby has experience (being the totally very very SAD eater that he was)... a green smoothie feast didn't cause too much detox at all. So I wouldn't (personally) worry about harming a babe in utero.

Wow...that's a serious one. If you've not detoxed before, I agree with the others about it possibly causing undue stress on your baby and could be cause for concern if you go into the lifestyle too quickly.
If you are truly feeling a calling to go more raw/juice/water, then the only $.02 I can throw in is to do a lot of research on Google looking for sites, discussion forums, etc., discussing trying to detox and/or starting a raw diet during pregnancy.
I'm all for eating healthy and this is a crucial time for your baby - you just don't want to unload toxic residue into your system. It's a fine line.
Best wishes!

I would think a green smoothie would be perfectly fine in the morning if you don't change the rest of your diet at the same time. By just adding a GS in the morning and eating whatever you are currently eating during the day you should have very little if any detox. This is just my opinion.
Blessings,

yes. You are right Aleesha. I was just thinking about what could be tolerated at that state. But we are all different when it comes to that. It brings back some memories that's for sure. Being naucious all day sucks. The bananas in the green smoothie might help. But yeah..moderation to slow down the detox is the point.

I'm sorry, but you must the the only one that doesn't know what a green smoothie is. NAH! Just messing w/you. It was a few months after I went raw before I figured out what they were.
Try using ginger in the green smoothies. That is very soothing on the tummy.
You do not NEED fast food. Your mind thinks it does. Your body KNOWS it doesn't. I think it's more taxing on one's body, pregnant or not, when consuming these chemical-laden so-called foods. You start drinking GS's and eating whole, living foods and you AND your baby will thrive. But that's just how I feel about it. It's your call. You do as you see fit.

One thing I heard at a raw potluck, is that it is very important to keep hydrated to avoid morning sickness. Be sure to drink plenty of water at night. It will help wash away any toxins etc. Also, I find baby spinach and cucumbers very soothing. I mix mine with a little frozen mango to sweeten it up, but that might not work for you. Try experimenting with various combos.
Also, the ginger that veganforlife mentioned is a great idea. A word of caution though, a little goes a long way. I have used to much and ended up diluting and diluting.

Thank you or all your advice..
A little history about me, I am overweight but I know I am not as toxic as the general public. I have done the master cleanse for the whole tens days 4 times in the last year. I have done the home organic "coffee enema's" almost weekly but I gave that up several months ago...It was "yuk" too much..I have been drinking ChlorOxygen in all my spring water daily for almost a year & that is very detoxifying.
I take colon cleanse 2-4x's a week and 80% of my food come from Whole Foods ( which is a health food store here is Colorado). I only eat organic fruits and veggies and hardley ever eat out. I am however, a HUGE sugar chocolate freak. I always joke that I am probably the ONLY person at the health food store who has a cart full of cookies, cakes, truffles, chips ect.. healthy but not real healthy at the same time. I know I eat between 1500-2000 calories a day.
Everything is so confusing when it come to pregnancy and weight. I mean they tell you your body fat is for the baby but then they tell you not lose any weight because of toxins/ketones BUT then they say if you are plus sized and pregnant to go ahead and lose some weight it wont matter. AND if you are underweight they say you have to start packing on the pounds. I am coming to the conclusion that they really just do not know.
Where this whole topic gets really confusing for me is when it comes to breast feeding. I nursed my son (who is now 9 yrs old) and I lost 60 lbs in 3 months! What about toxins then?? And wow was I unhealthy I was 23 when I got pregnant with him I was a smoker who quit when I was 12 weeks pregnant, not to mention before I got pregnant I lived at the bar and just got out of my teenage "experimenting stage" if you know what I mean. My son turned out to be the most beautiful healthiest baby ever who to this day never gets sick (knock on wood).
(((sigh))) So I don't know what I should do, I think I am going to try and be an intuitive eater and stay away from the empty calories and try and eat as healthy as possible. I know they say toxins are released blah blah blah but then I can't help to think about the drug addicted mothers who by the time they find out they are pregnant they are almost into the 2nd trimester (because the drugs give them irregular periods) and have healthy babies. I know I saw a thing of discovery or something that said the baby is protected in utero from the mothers toxins and that is just the miracle of mother nature..SO who knows VERY confusing... I know I have babbled a ton! sorry!!
sorry for all the typos too. Can you tell I am just so hormonal?!!
Hopefully a raw foods diet will balance me back out because I feel like I am going crazy right now...Any suggestions for that? lol or should I go find a mental patient forum?? lol!!

Oh Memories! Light the corners of my mind.
Hang in there girl. We are here for ya. Yer not as bad off as I thought if you have done all that cleansing. Just have some juice or smoothies and do like the girls say and add a little ginger. I like to put a tad of coconut oil in mine for better absorbsion.
My son was also fighting my toxins in the womb. I ate steak the whole time to combat the nausia. Nice eh? He had alot of problems with ear infections but now he has been raw for a year and is mega healthy.
Take care.
