...okay....I'm still trying to understand this....I put a bunch of greens and fresh mint in my blender with water...blended and strained with a paint strainer bag....this was sooo easy and way quicker than using my Champion...BUT, is this really juice? I know it is watered down but would I get more/concentrated juice if went thru the process with the juicer? I'm almost feeling somehow that I didn't really juice them...?

of course you did! lots of people water down their juice before they drink it (i don't personally) and besides... you body doesn't care if it's watered down or not.

if it's easier for you... then do it! (((hugs)))

Hi Aleesha!!!!!!
Thank you! It makes sense, but it was really so much easier than trying to push them thru the Champ. and so much quicker...I will really drink more green juice this way! btw...the mint was really tasty in it...I really need to have some in my garden! 'clink clink to you'! :D Deb

I have a Champion juicer but no room on my counter to keep it out...it's heavy and not convienient...so...I've been using my VM and straining the juice and have been juicing every day. Last night I made celery, carrot, beet, radish, green apple and ginger...no water necessary. It makes a good amount and easy to strain with the paint strainer bags. I am loving how easy it is.

Do you need to do anything special with those bags before use? Or just wash them well first? I like the idea of vitamix + strain since 1 I just bought a vitamix and 2 I have a 9 year old Juiceman Jr. that I have never really used partly because when I do it seems to create so much waste. Although now that I know about the bag trick I could always squeeze more juice out of its pulp "waste". Knowing what the vitamix can do though I think I'd get more juice from it though.

WOW GLimr....no water necessary???? I have a champ too...but I need a new blender and am thinking the VM is the way to go...amazing that no water needed!!!!

Fly: when I tried this with greens and water {blender not a VM!}, I just rinsed the paint bag well...used a little soap...got that new item smell out.......

i only use the paint strainer bags when im fasting in order to remove all pulp , but when not fasting i use a fine wire mesh metal kitchen strainer because it cleans up easier / faster than the paint filters . and to make pulp go farther i add more water to blender and throw the pulp back in from strainer and blend again . several times til the pulp is ' empty ' , oh so nice on the budget :D

Michigan,
I don't have a quick clean up using strainer ever. I don't have sprayer on sink so maybe that makes difference. Using a sponge, swatting it on the 'behind" or any further clues as this may be silly, but not to me for clean up. Thanks.

hi carolg :) . seeing you brings back the 'good old days' :p when rawtruth/rawpreistess/ and the ever entertaining and erudite shivananda were around . i could go for a dose of the wit and knowledge of a rawtruth vs shivanada debate right now

concerning strainer i turn it upside down under running faucet and use a nylon dish brush to brush out the pulp from mesh . you prob dont use a brush and thats your prob .

see ya , franco
