I got a flyer in the mail awhile back from a local health store and they had some recipes in there and one was for veggie burgers. I tweaked it to make it raw...OMG these are the best burgers I have tried yet! It is so simple to make too!

1 cup cashews
1 cup sprouted lentils
1/2 cup shredded carrot
1/c cup shredded zucchini
1 fresh jalepeno, chopped (if you like it
hot leave in the seeds)
2-3 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup onion
4 tsp curry powder (i used more since I like it spicy)
1 tsp sea salt
juice of 1 lime

Place the nuts in a FP and process to a powder.
Add remaining ingredient and pulse several times
until mixture is well mixed and just starting to stick
together.
Divide into patties.
I put them on the dehydrator for 3 hours or so and then flipped for
another 2-3 hours.

I had something almost exactly like this at the blossoming lotus the other night. It was AMAZING. Obviously it wasn't anything like a big mac [and the problem? LOL] but it was so garlicy and delicious... I wished I had room for a second. =P

Sounds good - I'm copying this recipe! I've got a good folder going with some recipes from RFT! I'll be busy for a good while with trying something new each week!

im not into cashews , expense / questions about their rawness / questions about how theyre shelled , so am wondering of any alternatives ?

what about mac nuts or pine nuts? Both have a milder flavor than walnuts or other nuts.

I make these and I really like them. They were a hit with my SAD friends too. I don't like to eat a lot of cashews either, so I often up the amount of lentils I use and put far fewer cashews in. I am not a huge fan of sunflower seeds in things, so I don't go that route.
