Anyone use this? I would love to know what your experiences were like.

Hi Erin,

I tried, but I HATE swallowing pills so I had to stop. But the short time I did, I really liked the results (how the product worked) as I had tried others before that weren't as effective.

But I always share my son's experience (he's a teen and he's not raw). He had the most AWFUL breath issue. It wasn't anything with his teeth...it was an internal issue. He started taking them and one day he was talking to me and his breath was actually nice. So, it did help him with getting rid of that little problem.

Most here know I am a big fan of enemas especially when first starting out with raw to aid in detox...but for those who are not quite feelin' that whole process, I highly recommend this product - "a colonic in a bottle!"

I read on the website that you can open the capsules and stir the powder into applesauce or something, I made sure I looked if I could do that because I hate swallowing pills too!
If it's not too personal, what results did you get?
Do you know if this works on the whole colon or just the lower part like enemas?
Thanks!

Colonic in a bottle? Does it interfere with the workday or should it only be taken on when I'm going to be around the house? I've had some colon cleansers that I just couldn't predict, so I couldn't take unless I would be home during the next 24 hours.
I have been feeling uncomfortably "full"/constipated (?) lately, even though I'm eating very lightly and having daily BM. I read this just as I'm thinking of scheduling a colonics appointment, even though I had not planned to have one for the next couple of months as a part cutting my budget. I pay $70 per session and usually schedule them in groups of 3 or so (consecutive weeks). If this product is really effective, perhaps I can use it while saving $$$. Otherwise, I usually schedule a series of 3 or more colonics every few months.

Hi Erin,

I tried this before I started raw, when I had very bad constipation. I loved the result, and it was the only thing that worked after trying numorous things. I had lots of bowel movements, and unlike every other constipation relievers, it worked continuously. Others that I tried always only worked for the first 2, 3 days. I highly recommend it to people who has severe constipation.

Ever since I started raw 2 years ago, I have 2-3 bowel movements a day without any supplements. Is this for yourself? Did you just start raw?

I still don't have 3 day yet...disappointing but not surprising considering how severe or chronic my constipation was before raw... I hadn't heard of "colonic in a bottle".... Think I'll try that and the Oxy Powder when my budget allows....I think I have a lot of hard stuff "stuck"...but I'm getting closer to 3 a day, that's my goal, 3 a day every day...

Lavendar, I think Rawkinlocs was referring to the Oyx Powder as being like a colonic in a bottle.
Right? I gather that means it provides for a rather good colon cleansing. I was wondering if it is to "powerful" or "unperdictable" to use during the week when I'm working and the only bathroom (with 5 stalls) on my floor seems to be a 1/2 block walk down the hall.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...gotta be able to laugh at ourselves right:o

Thanks for the clarification...I'm definitely giving it a try, hoping it will help "loosen stuff up and move it on out" I just want to get to the point where I have 3 BMs daily

The way Oxypowder works is that they suggest you take the capsules at night, before bed and preferably on an empty stomach (wait like an hour or so after your last meal of the day). By the next morning, you should be "going". Now, being a stay-at-home mom, I didn't have to worry about the whole going to work thing, but here is what my husband (who DOES work outside of the home) said about his experience:

"Everyone is different and you have to experiment a little to find what will work best for you. For example, for me, I found that taking 2 pills at night before bed had me up in the middle of the night...taking 4 pills before bed had me going in the middle of the night, in the morning as well as a couple of times during the day while at work. But taking 1 pill at night and then one in the morning when I got up had me go in the morning and then again once I got home from work. So that works for ME...1 pill at night and then 1 in the morning."

Now, that's him (my husband)...for ME, personally...I found that taking 4 pills at night before bed was okay for me...it I did what I had to do in the morning and maybe a little bit of "action" would take place later on in the day, but not often. It really depends on your system...some "go" more and easier than others. But I just recently started back taking these and found that taking 2 pills is almost just right for me...have to drink a lot of water to help things along..you should do that anyway, though.

Also, while taking the pills...you won't have a super strong sense of urgency, but it will be a signal your body will give off to let you know, "Hey, it's about that time!". However...while taking these pills, if you feel like you have to pass gas, I HIGHLY advise you to hold it until you can get to a toilet as to avoid "sharting" LMBO!!!

And...this product will liquifiy your stools but it's also going to get all that gas and bloat out of you. So, if you were full of gas and you take these, expect to do a lot of farting. Sometimes when you go to the bathroom it may be nothing but a lot of air coming out if you had that in you. Once all the gas is out, the stools will start coming out.

It's good stuff, though. Not a lot of terrible cramping like other products, teas, herbal pills, etc. can oftentimes produce. And it works the entire colon and not just the lower intestine. Also, as it goes through the system it is cleansing and detoxifying other areas of the body too. I also love that the company and Dr. Group (the creator of this product) encourages a raw food diet!

As for opening up the capsules and putting in something...my daughter (who also hates swallowing pills) tried that with some mashed banana and said it tasted AWFUL...but I thought about mixing it in a cup of smoothie and seeing how that worked...if I do, I'll let you know as we have a bottle here that my husband recently bought.

If anyone needs the link, again you can get it here: http://eatlivingfood.com/recommends/oxypowder (thanks!)

Thanks Rawkinlocs! Great, helpful information!
I'll definitely plan to try it, but will be sure to start when I have a couple of free days at home to "experimment" with the correct dosage.

mixing it with a smashed banana, hmm sounds like a good idea. Right now I have to take the ginormous antibiotics for a tooth infection and there's no way I can swallow them, so I crush them up and add them to something thick, like chocolate milk, applesauce, smoothie, ect. and the taste is hardly there.

This OXY product sounds great!

Just in case it doesn't work OP, I just juiced 10 red apples and got the same result almost instantly without expecting it. lol.

Okay back to the thread...just sharing that Apples are amazing. :D

I read somewhere to do a apple cleanse....like only eat apples for 3 days. I bet I could do that.

Okay, update on the OxyPowder (http://eatlivingfood.com/recommends/oxypowder) in a smoothie experiment:

As far as not noticing any "odd" flavor, it WORKS! So, from here on out, I will simply open up the capsules and empty the contents into a blender of fruit and greens and blend it up in the smoothie as I detest swallowing pills!

Now, as far as if it still works as effectively...well, I'll hafta let ya know! ;)
To be continued...

I have so many more questions for you!
Does it make you cramp, or did it before when you swallowed the pills?
And is there seriously a danger of "sharting" yourself while taking this?

just make sure you take it with lots of water. I've been doing oxycleanse on and off - as needed - for five years, and if you don't take it with a great deal of liquid, it can burn a hole in your stomach.

I've been an off and on again vegetarian for years, so my bowels are pretty clear and the two bottles i have just mainly sit and collect dust.

this stuff will blast it out of you, but it doesn't pull out toxins like a good colon cleanse can, with magnetic clays. Look into them.
