Do you ever worry that you're eating too many nuts?
I've been raw for about 2 months and at first just ate a ton of fruit and some veggies... just a few nuts. But lately I've been craving nuts and end up snacking on nuts like crazy (almonds, walnuts, pecans and raisins with some sea salt). I didn't really need to lose weight, but did...and was really enjoying the slimmer me. Now I fear I'm gaining the weight back from eating all these nuts.
Any suggestions to how to stop the munching??

Never.

Sounds to me as thought your body was/is craving what nuts have. It'll stop craving once it's satisfied. Enjoy!

I agree with Revvell! There are times when I'll get on a serious nut (or nut-based recipe) kick and then after a while, I'll no longer want them and then will start leaning towards fruit or greens...naturally.

If you eat them without the salt, they might loose their appeal and you'll find that it was the salt you were really after. I was binging on salads for awhile and then I realized that it was the salty dressing I really wanted.

Same exact thing happened to me when I first raw..and I did gain a lot of weight after my nut craze unfortunutely. When I eat nuts, I don't DO one handful.. :)

I agree with Revvell. Your body is wanting them. I get cravings for nuts but it passes, then fruits and it passes, huge salads, then it passes, avocados, then it passes. Just listen to your body.

I switched most of my nuts to seeds. I think it was the fat that I was wanting. Now I'll have some pumpkin, sunflower, or chia seeds and that seems to satisfy me with less fat. Over time I have lost my desire to eat tons of nuts. It all goes in phases, so don't worry too much!

Hi, same exact thing happened to me. I am 100% raw for 1 year 3 months. I did lose some weight in the beginning and was feeling GREAT. Not a lot, like 10 pounds. Lately, maybe the last 2 1/2 MONTHS, I have been eating nuts like crazy. Not a handful either, like bingeing on them. I did gain a lot of weight in these last 2 months and I am not happy. I think it might be psychological. I am not hungry when I start eating them. I am just craving them. If I don't eat them, I start getting really angry. I'm not sure if its physical or not, but it's not getting any less. Actually, I just keep bingeing on them EVERY night. I'm trying desperately to stop, but nothing is helping. I tried juicing. Works great until I stop juicing. I've tried eating more during the day, then less during the day. I'm going crazy. If anyone has any ideas, I'd love some help. Thank you.

Debbie

When I find myself bingeing on nuts and seeds. Actually sunflower seeds are the worst for me, I make nut milk. Lately I've had to limit myself with purchasing large amounts of raw nuts as I also cannot eat a couple of handfuls. Yeah, I put them in the glass jars and out of sight. But inevitably I keep reaching into the jar, lol. I agree with Revvell though...I think I go through cravings based on what my body is lacking. I try to get the missing link from another food. For example knowing that magnesium and iron are high in some nuts, I will try to get it in some other food(s). Seems to help.
