Hello Everyone!
I just wanted to introduce myself ~ and thank everyone for their posts. I've been reading them for the past couple of weeks... trying to decide if this is for me or not. Since you guys are all so stinking encouraging... I took the plunge (or as you'd say it, the CHALLANGE).
Believe it or not, I am on my fourth day raw! I can not believe that I actually made it this far! I am so excited about change! Scary but thrilling! I just ordered (oh MY!) Alissa's book and CD, a spiral slicer (I LOVE pasta!), and, hold your breath -- a blender! Yikes. I'm experiencing some buyer's freakout since I never spend that much money! But, I really want this. I want health.
So, YAY for me!!
As you can imagine, I'm floundering -- but, I'm sure once I get my stuff everything will fall into place. I just hate that I have to wait a week or so before things arrive... that's a long time to hold my breath!

Hello and Welcome! Good for you on 4 days! It can be tough, but if you do enjoy "cooking" or creating dishes, it can also be kind of fun. I've really enjoyed trying things that I've never eaten and creating dishes that I would have never thought of creating! The forums do offer a lot of support and ideas too, so don't be afraid to ask for help.
Good luck!

Once you get Alissa's book and DVD you'll really not even think floundering....watch the DVD first, it gets you excited and able to make several dishes until you can read her book....I'm excited for you.

Welcome, fellow Southern Cal-Girl!
This is a great site. Everyone is so supportive and helpful. This has been the place for me that helped me become RAW. So, much information, too. I wish you strength and vitality in your journey :).
I'm above Temecula in a place called Aguanga, ever heard of it? (most people havent')

Hi Angela,
WELCOME!!
I am in So Cal also - WLA. I'm also a newbie with almost 2 1/2 months raw. If you have questions about local stores, etc., feel free to ask. I might know or know how to find out. I've done a lot of research and have spoken with a lot of people in the area. I'm still finding out about new places all the time. It's so much fun in So Cal as we have a lot of options.
Good luck,
Joann

There are soo many amazing Raw restaurants in Santa Monica, Malibu, Venice, All the beach cities, Pasadena.... plus there is such a wonderful array of exotic fruits available in So Cal... its almost as good as being here in Hawaii!!
