Hello raw folks,
I have been painfully bloated over the past couple of days and wondering what it is that could be causing it. I have had quite a lot of bean sprouts (mung, garbanzo and lentil) on my salads...have you heard of beans/legumes causing this?
Thanks,
Heather

Yes, I had bloating early on with garbanzo and other beans. They were sprouted and I blended them into a pate. I completely stopped the beans and the bloating/gas went away. But they were the regular dried beans that I sprouted (garbanzos, kidney and black beans).
I sprouted other types of smaller beans, seeds and grains and I was fine.
Anyways, just recently I sprouted some garbanzos and was able to incorporate them into my diet. I started off in small quantities and I was fine. So now, I sprout garbanzos occasionally and eat them in salads or puree for a hummus. I also sprout lentil beans occasionally. They work okay for me, too.

Yep , cooked beans dont do that to me (AS BADLY) ,so I just try to stay away from beans in any form - long thin stragley sprouts seem fine though (like alfalfa ,mung, clover ect....) ;)

bloating along with terrible gas is what raw bean sprouts gives me!!! UNLESS i gently steam them.... then i have no problems whats so ever with bean sprouts!!
any type of bean from a can tho... or cooked... horrible!
i wonder why i can tolerate them so well when they are gently steamed!
if you really enjoy them... you could give that a whirl... unless your deeply into the whole 100% raw thing.
im okay with alfalfa... unless i consume them to many days in a row.. then problems set in :p
