It's been a while since I posted any progress pics, so here they are.

This years results of bodyweight training and Fruitarian "fruit juice" diet, this year was my off year so I took the time to achieve some goals and teach myself more advanced exercises so I'm not where I should be in most areas but I'm happy with the achievements and results thus far.

I just listened to his interview and he eats 60-85% fruit and then the rest is raw green/veggies/nuts and seeds. :)

(just so no one thinks he's 100% fruit)

Ha, ha.....I don't know what interview you were listening to because I don't eat nuts/seeds, greens nor do I drink water....I've always been on 100% fruit/juice. :)

Go to the faq page of my site for more info.

Hey Dude! Long time no hear from ;)

I was thinking the same thing...that "the Richard I know is strictly fruit (sweet and non-sweet)" but I didn't say anything because I didn't listen to the interview and figured, "Oh well, maybe he's changed something in his diet since I last heard".

How's it going? Lookin' good as always!

I'm blessed... August 1st marked my second year anniversary and this new year has brought out a different level of accountability. Actually, the second year has been far more difficult than the first- mainly because I have "eyes" on me and I've always been in the background but you know I'm being pushed to the front- my purpose depends on it.

A big THANK YOU to you..sharing your experiences and your journey (great website- visit it many times for the encouragement) is motivating and inspiring and keeps many of us determined to press on and continue nurturing and disciplining our body, mind and spirit:)

Did you experience the skin problems ad hair-loss associated with fruitarians? I've read that on a few sites and I'm not sure if that's factual.

Hey you!!!!!

Yeah, you know I can't take that nuts/seeds and greens stuff.....infact I've only just realised that 90% of my fruit intake for the last 3-4 years has been fruit juice....ha,ha, but who cares, it's only food. :)

Either way I'm doing fantastic....achieved two long time goals and I've been out in the sun working my butt off and having a blast!

How bout you?

No...I've never had any of the stuff you hear in the horror stories, myths and urban legend!

Having said that it's all up to the individuals past history and genetics/parents.

I'm surprised that you can do bodybuilding on just fruit. WOW.. I got to show my brothers this stuff because they believe that they have to eat steak, eggs and protein powders to build muscles.

I'm so sorry. I was listening to your interview on your page... I must have misheard... lots going on around me at the time.

Thank you so much for clarifying that for me. :D

I am huge into fruit myself. I'm doing a fast right now and am pretty much only doing fruit juices - recently finished a 45 day juice feast which was almost all fruit as well. When I eat though... I do lots of greens but the fruits are really resonating strongly with me right now. Nice to hear of someone else who is doing mostly fruit.

in light,
Aleesha

Thank you....Yeah I'm not a bodybuilder....I'm all about funtional fitness!

Steak, eggs and protein powders, etc will only swell you up because they are toxic to the body giving the "impression" of muscle mass but as soon as you stop taking them you'll go back to your regular size.

Any way you could post what a typical day looks like in terms of food (or juice, be that the case)?
I am over 6' and so skinny and have trouble getting enough calories even without exercising. I've been feeling really dizzy and weak lately and would love to know how to consume more calories in a safe way. Thanks.

Well I'm in Texas and it's been over 100 degrees for the past month and I'm still working out in the sun/outdoors and I generally have 2-4 cups of water melon juice a day depending on climate/activity and how much I need, I'll be on watermelon for the entire summer then go on to orange juice in the fall/winter, my consumption is getting less and less as time goes by..

I don't base my needs on calories/protien, etc, I base it on intuition and hydration.

I'm from Texas too...howdy! Once a Texan, always a Texan.
I wish I had the intuition you talk about. I never feel connected to my body and what it truly needs. I try not to base things on calories too, but it's obvious even with the large amounts of food I'm eating that I'm doing something wrong. Thanks for the tip, though.

Ha,ha....yeah the weather here is just right for me...

As for the intuition, we all have it, we just need to get back to it....infact you have already answered your question about what your doing wrong!

You said..."I try not to base things on calories too, but it's obvious even with the large amounts of food I'm eating that I'm doing something wrong."

That's your issue right there...overeating and everything that goes with it!

Hi! I'm so glad to have found your thread. It's so great to find someone living your lifestyle and training your body like you do. It is inspirational.

Four months ago I joined Crossfit. Take a look at their website. I think you'll like it if you're into functional fitness. I love it. But I'm struggling with my belief system about eating. I was raw when I started and they've been pressuring me to eat meat. They swear I'll feel better if I do and excel in performance. I've tried it a few times and I don't like it. I want to be raw. It's the only thing that makes sense to me. I'm confused because sometimes if I'm feeling tired or low energy, they always tease me and tell me it's because I'm not eating meat and now my performance is suffering. I'm not completely raw at the moment though. So, I'm not following a raw diet or the meat eating one they push. I'm eating lots of fruit, veg, greens, brown rice, fish. So, I guess my current diet isn't working for me either because I have digestion issues.

Do you have more info about overeating and the problems that come with it?

Raene, you might want to take a look at a book called Unwinding the Belly. I just started it and it's talking a lot about listening to the body and developing your intuition.

i am soooo with you on this one. that's what i do every day as well. whatever my body asks for... i give it. right now, it's into pineapple juice and lots of it.

i think you are very connected to your body... it's those around you who try to influence you who are the problem. when i connect with you... i simply get that you are someone who is thin. period. it's how you are supposed to be. i think once you give into it... and just go with your own flow... you'll find your flow.

it's the stress of 'questioning' your Self that's causing you harm - in my opinion. email me if you want to chat more raene (((hugs)))

I don't know anything about you but....I hope this helps!

Your tired and your physical perfomance is and will suffer because your body is using every bit of energy detoxing, cleaning, healing and reversing the damage done by years on cooked foods.....going back and eating cooked foods WILL make you workout/feel better only because you've stopped the cleansing/healing/detox process!

Going raw is not something you do and you instantly go off and live happily ever after, it's a total body over haul/make over and takes years to even scratch the surface!

I get this from athletes all the time....

Yeah I'm not into crossfit, I don't like the vibe!...I do my own fitness program/system.

Thanks, Aleesha! Hugs back to you. Yes, I question everything. Am I too thin to get pregnant? Will this affect the baby? CAN I get pregnant? Will it be safe for me to get pregnant? Am I dangerously thin? Am I dying? Etc etc. All day. Not good for anyone; I know I'm just putting negativity back in, but I haven't found a way to release it. Working on it though...trusting my body...perhaps the hardest thing I'll ever learn to do.
