Hey everyone! I'm so excited about starting this raw journey, but I have a few questions. First, the green smoothie is supposed to be a vital source of protein while doing raw, correct?? Is it also okay to add hemp seed to this smoothie?? Being that I'm a HEALTHY (220lbs) male, I am concerned about getting adequate protein. Would a green smoothie be enough?? Would I have to drink one everyday??
Also, is rice vinegar considered raw??
Thanks for any and all help!! I sincerely appreciate it!
Rice vinegar's not raw, but apple cider vinegar is. You can add the powder if you want. I usually have more flax seeds (ground) when I'm working out a lot. I didn't make the connection at first, but that is just what my body craves.
Good luck. This is a great lifestyle for people who want to be even more fit. It's pretty important -- in my opinion -- to get the green smoothies and something like flax/hemp seeds regularly if you work out a lot. You WILL get a lot of protein no matter what, though. Everything has protein in it, but the flax/hemp will help if you need more. So will seeds/nuts in general.

You should check this site out if you're just hanging around....particularily the video clips on this page entitled 'Post workout smoothie' and 'The Protein Myth'.
Not saying it's gospel or anything...but very good food for thought and a very inspirational guy.
