Why is it that with a centrifugal juicer (which is what I have) that it's better to drink the juice immediately? I was looking on some other posts about maybe making a batch for the next day, but obviously I want to get the maximum benefit from my hard work. (It's tedious to put ALL that into that little bitty chute! lol)
Also, which, in yalls opinion, is better for a faster...not a feaster? My little juicer wasn't expensive, which was good, and it gets the job done, but if I'm to continue this, I'm worried that the "you get what you pay for" will definitely come into play.
And...wheatgrass? Can you put that through a centrifugal juicer or no? Thanks so much!

I have more than 1 juicer. Juicers like the Green Star can juice Wheat Grass and other Fruit and Vegetables. If I am juicing daily I will use the Jack Lalane Juicer because it is so handy and easy to Clean.

The thing about juicing and Juicers is to keep the juice from being heated to a high temperature. I don't think that is such a problem Today as it was in the past.

If you REALLy want to Juice and your Juicer is not up to par and you cannot do any better at the moment....You Must program Yourself to do what you must. Some people have used Blenders and Strained the Juice.

So whatever you have...Make it work for you and Stay on the RAW Food Journey. Someone is Always getting rid of equipment so stay in touch with EBay and other outlets.

I hope this post has been of some help to you...If not, someone else will add more indept help for you while I gave it a BUMP..........

A twin gear juicer produces a better quality juice because of the way that it breakes down the cell. It is not just a matter of heat.
I have seen a report on research and the nutrient value of the juice is much higher so you need less.
Single gear is next best and centrefugal is last.
The Green Star is top of the list and it would be worth your while to pick one up if you can get one cheap.

when they juice, they mix a lot of air with the juice. The more the juice is exposed to the air, the fast it looses it's nutrients.

I ordered an Omega 8003 juicer from EarthTurns.com. It is white and $30 cheaper than the 8005, same juicer but chrome. It does wheatgrass and leafy greens, and I read lots of reviews. It costs $229 and the shipping is free from that company. I also didn't pay sales tax. I understand the Greenstar is quite a bit more, and I don't think it's really any better. Start saving your pennies ;)

It's not just heat that's a problem, in centrifugal juicers air is whipped into the juice by the ton, and it is air contact that oxidizes and destroys nutrition.
