I'll be in Orange County in early October, at a meeting at St. Joseph Hospital, near the airport, I understand. Are there any raw restaurants nearby? How far is it to Los Angeles, and what's there? I'm totally unfamiliar wit the ariea, but will have some time to explore. Thanks.
BTW--How far is Sherman Oaks, and what's there?:)

This restaurant is in Fountain Valley which is in Orange county. The name is Au Lac and they offer very tasty raw food as well as vegetarian.
From the raw menu, I would recommend their yummy omega chips, the day i went they had hand rolls- which is seaweed wrap- so so very good, interesting veggies as well and my husband got the risotto-which if you are interested in something a big heavier is amazing, it melted in our mouths:O)

Hi Blazin Jane,

There's a restaurant called 118 degrees in South Coast Plaze (by Orange County) I've heard good reviews.

you must go to au lauc! it is a one of a kind experience! you will not find food like it ANY WHERE else! the deep house salad, hot & sour soup and imagine risotto are super duper yummy! it's a little on the $ side, but the portions are really big (the salad & soup are @ least 2 servings & the main dishes are 2-3 @ least)! chef ito is a wonder & kind soul!
enjoy :p

We had 2 meals this weekend at Au lac and both were wonderful dining experiences! Thaks for recommending it. I ate myself silly! --both times! :D We don't have any raw restrurants in Missouri, so I went a little crazy. We also had a good meal at Leaf in Sherman Oaks, and another in San Luis Obispo at Smiling Dog Yoga. It was quite the food orgy weekend for me. I loved it!
