Hi All-

I am 75% raw and have a horrible eczema patch on the back of my neck, the ones on my elbows have improved, but not on my neck. IT looks horrible, its about the size of a dollar coin...what can i do to alleviate it? Topically and internally? Any herbs, oils, etc?

Thanks in advance
:o

Try tea tree oil and neem oil, they are antifungal and antibacterial, etc.... Natural alternatives to chemical ointments! I had something on my elbows off and on for a long time and after a bad case I finally went to the doctor and he said it was fungus or eczema. He gave me some ointments and i used them for a while, but then wanted to find some more natural alternatives. These have worked well for me. During an outbreak, or just whenever, I put them on twice a day.

I had some awful rashes -- also on my elbows and the back of my head. My husband made a really big deal out of how bad they were and tried to get me to the doctor. I didn't wan to go. They got better going 100% raw, even better by oil pulling, then just would not completely go away until finally I tried urine therapy. Yup. After over a year trying everything else, in maybe a week or two, it was healed.

Oil pulling did help a lot, though. Ah, so did juicing -- but with juicing, it got worse before better.

It could have been the B12 in the urine (I'm assuming that there is B12 in urine). B12 deficiency is ONE of many causes of eczema.

If the eczema is getting worse from detoxing, make sure your bowels are moving. You want to make sure the toxic stuff is getting out through those channels rather than through your skin.

My mom had really bad eczema as a child, all over her body and face, that she used to treat with steroids. We went to a raw food cleansing retreat and her eczema came back after not having it for over thirty years. It went away without the use of steroids after about 6 weeks. She used some MSM lotion from David Wolfe's website and she said that seemed to help soothe it.

I felt so bad for her because she was so itchy and uncomfortable. But we were both amazed at how the body was reacting to cleansing. She was glad it was all coming out.

I've used Dr. Christopher's bone and tissue formula ointment. It's an herbal topical ointment. I've had some success w/ it. Best wishes.

It could have been the B12 in the urine (I'm assuming that there is B12 in urine). B12 deficiency is ONE of many causes of eczema.

I had these rashes when I was eating a lot of meat (not that that necessarily means I couldn't be deficient in B12, but I have no reason to believe I had any deficiency) and still after I went raw. I found they would worsen if I was under a lot of stress, not sure why. I also found cleansing to improve the condition. I have analyzed my personal details to no end (because I tried SO much to get rid of it without FULL success), and I do not believe that in my case there was any reason to suspect this was related to B12.

That's an interesting thought, though.

I never went to a doctor. I really don't know for sure if they were eczema, but they probably were. It was red and became scaly, was so itchy (the back of my head too! Ick!).

I did put the urine on the rashes. I also drank it. I realize that probably sounds gross. I was desperate. Lucky for me, I had been raw for a long time and had already tried a lot of green smoothies, juicing, did a colon cleanse, was drinking tons of water and doing all the "right" things. So it was actually not big deal. Seriously. It was like drinking a sweet cucumber water. I used the mid-stream urine in the morning and in the afternoon to drink. I applied it to my skin every time I thought about it. I think it was a week or two before it was completely gone. Then that was it!

I had been trying for over a year to be rid of this, and I DID have a lot of success with other things that I mentioned. But it would never go all the way away, and then if I had stress with work it would suddenly get worse again.

There are actually a lot of people in other parts of the world (i.e. not in the US) who partake in the various forms of UT regularly. I have not had any reason to do that since, but I can understand that. It just is no longer appealing to me. I have been thinking about using it as a toner again, but I keep forgetting, and my skin is fine now anyways.

LOL -- feel free to ask more questions. But I may have already answered more questions than you even had. :p

I have psoriasis and I use Coconut Oil. It makes your skin so soft!

RAWCA,

You say you are about 75% raw...what does the other 25% look like? What are you eating that is not raw? And please, BE HONEST...no one here will judge you, but it may help to know what that other non-raw portion of your diet is to perhaps pinpoint if it may be something that is contributing to your eczema.

Exactly what I was going to ask. I think dairy products are a known cause. Are you also on any medications? Many drugs can cause this disease (and of course many others).
