Hi everyone,

I would like to try juice feasting- I know that it may be an extreme way for a SAD eater to clean out their system (I might be better off just eating 100% raw) but I just feel like I need to do it. I have to do something like this to get myself on track. I am just so intrigued by it and all the health benefits that I have read about, and I feel like i cant NOT try it.

That said, I am concerned about the weight loss. Dont get me wrong, I need to lose weight (about 40 pounds) but I am worried about losing too much, too fast, while juice feasting. My main issue is my skin. I am prone to stretch marks (have had them since puberty) and I am worried that losing too much weight too fast will result in more stretch marks on my body.

Does anyone have any experiences with this? I really want to try the feast, but I dont want to have scars as a result of it!! Thanks in advance for any advice.

I sure do. Take 1 Tbsp of MSM a day. I get mine from here (http://www.bio-alternatives.net/).

It'll make sure your skin retracts nicely as you release weight.

Welcome to the world of feasting!

I take an MSM supplement daily and use coconut oil as moisturizer. It makes your skin so soft!!

bicb85, by the way... one of our members (ellen) did a 92 juice feast from SAD. so no problem there. :) after all... we ALL come from SAD.

juice feasting - albeit short 8 or 9 day feasts - is how i came to raw!

Thanks for your replies,

What is MSM? Is it completely safe? I have never actually taken supplements because there is just so much out there and I never knew what was really necessary. But if MSM can help me with the stretch mark issue, then id be all for giving it a try!

I do feel like it would be easier to transition to raw foods by doing a feast. I tend to have a hard time easing into things, so a feast would be the perfect way for me to get rid of toxins and stop my sugar cravings in order to help me eat raw...

Also, I have never heard of using coconut oil as a moisturizer! I will definately give that a try though- does it matter what kind I get?

Thanks girls! I hope I have success with this!

organic is always better (coconut oil) but other than that... nope nothing special.

MSM is naturally occurring in rain-fed food. When food is irrigated, it does not create MSM.

.

If you go to a Whole Foods (or something comparable) you will probably see a variety of options available. However, when using internally or topically, strive for organic, extra virgin, unrefined coconut oil. That is the absolute purest and best blend for the body.

You can use other blends (less expensive / not as pure) for cooking/baking needs if you are not 100% raw.
