Hi there,
I've been browsing this forum for a while and chatting a little, and finally thought, I should introduce myself! My name's Nikki. I'm from a small town in northern Wisconsin. I've been researching and attempting "rawness" for a couple of years. I started looking into it in 2006 when my dad was having heart problems. I was then even more interested because I found out my son didn't ALWAYS have a cold, he had allergies. His nose ran constantly until about a year ago.
Anyway, I have been struggling with the raw diet a little, but finally committed to 75% about 5 months ago. Family and friends are the biggest obstacle. Not that they're against it, just always have temptations around them. I am going to eventually be at or close to 100%, just don't know when. I was thinking around my birthday this Sept. Just gotta set my mind to it!!
I created a website about the time I committed to 75%. I wanted to share information and recipes, kind of like a blog, but with a little more flexibility I guess. There are so many good communities and blogs and information out there. The recipes and websites are endless! It seems like I discover a new one every day. It sure does keep you motivated. I'm not sure what I would have done before the Internet... try and find some good books I guess! :p Not so easy in a small town!
