Well I finally got Alissa's book, I had wanted it for years but couldn't find it in stores here in Canada, so I just place a raw food order online from a place that sells her book.
I went through the recipes and I'm sure it will be one of if not my favorite raw recipe book. The one I bought just before this one, The Raw Gourmet, is one of my least favorites due to most recipes not having enough calories for me, this is not the case with most of Alissa's recipes.
So far I made the pad thai which is awesome, and am in the process of making her pizza I've been dying to try (easiest crust is dehydrating).
That is so great!!!
You're going to love the pizza. The easiest crust is way easier than the others, that's the one I usually did. ;)

The book also is good for strength training. Bicep curls and such. :p
Why did she make it so heavy? Some of us ride bikes and have to haul that thing around. Maybe someday she will come out with a paperback. HEHE

It wouldn't be quite heavy enough for me lol. My copy is paperback, is yours a hard cover?
By the way so far I made (yes, all today!):
-Pad thai
-Mock salmon
-Pizza
-Blueberrie pie
They where all great recipes, I will be remaking each one of those that's for sure.

oh yah..I guess mine is paperback. I was just thinking of those smaller paperback ones. But the large pictures in her book are great for showing people how awesome the food looks. I have turned many people on to raw with those pics.

So excited for you. I ordered mine today, and I also live in Canada, so hopefully it will not take long to get here.
How long did it take from the date you ordered the book?

I ordered on the 25th and got it yesterday, but I bought it with $100-130 of raw food like maca, mesquite, lucuma, cacao butter, etc. otherwise the shipping cost more than the book.
Where did you get yours from?

I made 3 more so far today:
-Swiss cheese
-Salt and vinegar chips (with normal potatoes!?! I'm anxious to try that one)
-Crepes
I was also hoping to make the samosas but as I said in another thread that recipe seems to have vanished from my copy of the book and is not in the index, does anyone have the page #?

raweater and Moretta
- just curious as to where you have ordered Alissa's book from ? Did either of you search out any of the local Living on Live Food Teachers in your area to see if they had some ?
It does seem to be difficult for Canadians to get their hands on it - perhaps I should order in a large quantity to save others from those shipping charges .

I got mine from naturalzing along with raw food ingredients to spread out the shipping cost accross multiple items to not pay $30-40 to ship a $30 book.

I have never ordered from them , but just checked out their site . Have you compared the Canadian online sites to this one - or do you just prefer them ? I haven't done much online shopping yet .

I did not find any canadian sites that had it, and wanted to order raw food items anyway. What canadian sites do you know that sell it and do they also have raw food?
Thanks

Sounds like you are happy with your order as you FINALLY have Alissa's book and all your product too . (( I'm just learning the ropes around here as far as online shopping goes - so please excuse me for my silly questions ))
" I am in Ontario , and was able to QUICKLY get her book through one of her Living on Live Food Teachers in my area - as it's also nice to support them and I didn't have to wait YEARS to get my hands on it "
as you said prior ' there are NO STORES that actually carry it '. I was just curious really as to why you wouldn't be able to get some of your products closer to home / from a Canadian online store . I checked out the Naturalzing- it looks good -but with the exchange and shipping costs - wouldn't it be easier outa Toronto ??
I think I need a LIST of ALL the ONLINE RAW STORES where I can research and compare prices --- DO YOU have such a thing ?
I'd really appreciate it . Thanks

The reason I ordered from natural zing is because I also wanted raw food ingredients and wasn't aware of any canadian sites that had them. I don't know if many online raw stores.
