Someone from Michelle's site "FromSadToRaw" posted a site where I found this article and I just had to share it here.

This is a portion of the article:

Many experts now believe the Western World is overfed and undernourished. We eat to gather the nutritional elements we need, and when our food fails to deliver them, we eat some more. And then some more.

Our body doesn't trigger the 'I'm full' switch because we haven't eaten what we need. So we get fatter and fatter, and in doing so, make even more demands on our body.

Many food companies employ experts to make their food more addictive so they make more profit. They add anything that's cheap and addictive, usually sugar, salt, artificial flavourings and colours. In a recent survey, 97% of the food we eat in the western world was found to be artificially treated to make it more palatable. Coupled to the poor nutrition of the soil, it is not surprising we are undernourished.

And now, we impose the Western nutrition on the third world, which already has dire nutritional imbalances through malnutrition."

No wonder we compulsively overeat! We're literally starving ourselves to death the more cooked, denatured food we eat. So, cheers to raw!

Its GREAT we dont have to worry about that , isnt it sad that in a country so ABUNDANT with food , we get little nutrients ,while places like Africa ,Cambodia and India are needing ANY food so badly :(

im not sure if this fits into what the topic is...

BUT.. ive been raw basically 100% now for 2 years... 3 years my first year being around 70 to 80%...

i go thru these phases... where i literally feel like STUFFING my face with food.. like im calorie deprived or something.. .like i can eat and eat and never get FULL!!
BUT... ive noticed that as my last meal... kinda like a little snack before bed time ( 3 to 4 hours before ).. i used to always eat fruit.. and i tended to always really over eat it... maybe out of bordem at night? no clue... but it was like i never got full ... and by the time i was full.. i was OVER FULL! ... ive recently started eating vegetables... mainly steamed brocolli instead... and i get full after just a little bowl full!!

i just though id comment....... since i believe one can eat the wrong " raw " foods as well! maybe they arent " wrong "... but might be wrong at the moment...

it seems like maybe there was certain nutrients in the brocolli.. that my body is/was wanting... since i hadnt ever really enjoyed eating brocolli.. since my body HATES it raw! but lightly steamed....mmmmmmmmmmmm :D

lol I SO know what you mean , I will REALLY overeat on raw ,if Im bored - Im VERY bored now ,since Im not in school ect... , but I dont gain a lot of weight back ,unless ts nuts (which I dont eat) --but when Im active I can go and go on VERY little raw foods.

It really doesnt depend on if theyre fruits or veggies , theyre both pretty filling (but that wont cure boredom will it? ;) :rolleyes: :o )
