Okay. I am on a MAJOR garlic and onion kick.
Any natural ways to freshen my breath, beyond brushing my teeth? Altoids and Orbit are pretty much out of the question now...

I see your parsley, and raise you a bell pepper!

I wonder, does anyone still suffer from bad breath after being raw for a while? My dad has TERRIBLE halitosis* --(i accidentally wrote comatose ack) I just wonder if anyone on a raw diet still suffers from it if they did previously.... that is excluding the times you eat something strong like an onion, haha.

I have a question - does anyone else get horrible tasting mouth/horrible breath after eating onions? Before I hit 30 I could eat tons of onions and have no issues but now I eat a tiny amount and it is horrible the way my mouth tastes a hour later. I brush and floss and use mouthwash and that doesnt help at all.

Here's the deal with onions. The onion fumes permeate your lungs. That's why teeth brushing doesn't help much because it's emanating from your lungs.
This too shall pass....

Onions are sooooo good for your blood and cells. Bad breath is worth it...for a little while. It will pass.
I find when I drink raw apple cider vinegar shots it wipes out the onion, garlicy breath.
But parsley and even basil reign supreme.
A good ole tongue scraping after you brush your teeth will do the trick too. Bacteria tends to hibernate on the tongue and it's where bad breath begins. You can purchase a tongue scraper from Walgreen's or Rite Aid for 4 bucks.

What about mint leaves?
Yes, mint leaves are GREAT to chew on. I sometimes chew on cinnamon sticks. When I drink hot tea, I let them soak in the tea, then chew on the sticks after when they are a bit soft. It's great because I also love to put honey or agave in my tea, and cinnamon is also fantastic for regulating blood sugar -- especially cinnamon sticks. :)

Gr8 answers! Although I don't experience funk breath anymore.
Also, drink water and brush your teeth AND tongue frequently.
