I found this list but wonder if anyone knows of other fruit which contains protein:

Fruit (1 medium fruit unless stated)
Protein (g)
Apple 0.26g
Apricot 0.49g
Banana 1.22g
Blackberries (1 cup) 1.04g
Blueberries (1 cup) 0.97g
Cherries, sweet, raw (10) 0.82g
Grapefruit, pink (1/2) 0.68g
Grapefruit, white (1/2) 0.81g

I know I had a list somewhere but can't seem to find it today.

Thanks for posting! We are a society obsessed w/protein coming from meat.

of course we all need to remember that greens are also high in protein! (since we've added nuts to this list)

Are there ANY fruits that DON'T have protein? I'm not aware of any.

rawstrawberry... i'm guessing that % of daily intake rather than percent of the fruit.

Hi Aleesha,

I think this is a great thread!

That is the percentage of protein absorption from that fruit.

It comes from a fascinating article but I will not post the link as it advocates eating some raw aninal products in which I STRONGLY do not agree with. Proudly vegan and full of life :)

Thanks for the lists... good info

I love brazils...is that % referring to the amount of protein it contains per serving?

Most SAD eaters actually consume too MUCH protein, and many nutrition professionals now recognize that the daily recommendations for protein are actually too high (because too much protein increases the risk for developing cancer.) And the only people in medical history ever recorded as having protein deficiencies have been meat eaters anyway--meat eaters with a protein absorption problem, eg something genetic that wasn't diet-related.

I'm thinking ALL fruit contains amino acids which make up protein. Combine them and you've got all the protein you need.
