when i have made raw bread in the past i have found that sometimes it falls apart under the stress of the large slice of raw onion and tomato and whatever else i might want to include.
when you want a good sturdy bread recipe for a burger...what do you use?
i have not yet tried alissa's burger buns. has anyone tried them?
thanks

collard greens :)
I've heard that but you know, give me some collards and I'm gonna want some greens and cornbread (made the raw version once and it was great-surprisingly).

i think the onion bread recipe is sturdy...the only one i ever made (as far as breads go)...think if it dehydrates until good and dry and with less onions might be good (had extreme stomach discomfort and a total bm shutdown:D ....too many onions for me)
hope someone else post some good bread recipes on here, don't do a lot of dehydrating myself...

You might try Ani Phyo's black sesame bread (you can use all regular sesame seeds). I couldn't find it online, but here (http://goneraw.com/recipes/842-Sun-dried-tomato-bread) is an adaptation of it on goneraw.
I've seen many recommendations for Rawvolution Onion Bread in sandwiches, too. Here (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1005&highlight=onion+bread) is an onion bread recipe from this site.
Another set of bread recipes specifically to use in sandwiches is on Russell James' blog. (http://therawchef.blogs.com/) This is a great read, btw. Not as comprehensive as this site, but I have enjoyed looking through some of the recipes.

ah see collard greens with the burger and tomatoes etc IS a real burger experience for me. i've always been more about the lettuce and tomato than anything else when i ate a SAD burger.

oh Aleesha... you are very lucky. i just am not like that....i DO love bread LOL ! to me..... it wouldnt be a burger without a big FAT slice of sweet onion and thick slice of tomato...AND! on a nice piece of bread.
collards are wonderful for wraps.....but i am sucker for bread when it comes to a burger. thanks goodness for dehydrators LOL

I made the Russell James bread and didn't like it, but I might try it again and leave out the Herbs de Provence. Lavender tasting bread isn't my thing.

thanks for the tip, I probably wouldn't have used herbs de provence either- as I would have to buy it especially for that.

Try wrapping your burger, onion & tomato or whatever in large lettuce leaves first. Then perhaps your bread won't get so soggy.

Herbes de Provence! Eeeewww!
I find in using the dehydrator that I need to cut all flavorings down by at least half.
Was the texture of the break okay?

SuzyQ ! thats a GREAT idea ! i dont know why i never thought about that before it makes alot of sense ! LOL silly me!
with everything wrapped in a lettuce or collard leaf there would be no juice to break up the bread. that just might be the answer to all sandwiches !
THANX LOADS!
