If so do you make it up yourself or do you buy a product to use.
I've heard that it's a great way to get the toxins out of the body.

i've done those bath things that are supposed to be detoxing - but they are not very handy to me, so I dont very often. I gave myself a foot bath last night and plan to every day this month, adding a drop of essential oils. my daughter raves about those foot detoxing pads you wear on your feet when you sleep - she says food cravings really go away when she uses them. I'm seeing if I can find some locally.

I've done the machine thingy a couple of times. Not sure if it's doing anything. Feet feel good after but, would they feel as good in a warm salt bath?

Hello there,

I am sorry I do not have a answer for you just comment. I have been wondering about this as well and just have been thinking about better foot care. I am a runner and my feet are not in good shape.

Also at work this week someone was telling me the newest thing to do, I guess at spas is put your feet in this water and these fish come and eat the dead skin off your feet. I find it interesting, but not for me-ew.

My husband and daughter have had numerous foot baths but machine that they paid for. Key is making sure the filters are changed often...maybe every other time for sure but not certain if practioner would admit how often done. I have a lady here in CO if people are in my area. Close to Denver area. It has extracted tons of toxins to both people here. However, they are doing NAET treatments too and using this as supplemental to that. I am doing NAET and not doing foot baths for added expense. Computer crash and typing from library so post here, but email me if you need me to get back here too.

The foot pads that are supposed to remove toxins from your body are a huge scam. Maybe there is a placebo effect, but there are no heavy metals or toxins present in a used foot strip, only sweat and dirt.

I have used detox patches applied to the feet overnite and by morning they were black..I called the health food co i bought them from and asked if that was normal and they said yes as the detox pulls the toxins out of your body and they come out on the foot patches very dark depending on how much toxicity you have in your body...so i continued the patches for 10 days and have felt much more energy and have felt way less run down as i had when i started using the patches. I dont think they are a scam, i do think they worked for me and they are easy to apply and you dont notice them when they are on your feet overnite..no discomfort at all..dont even know they are there..and then you just take them off in the morning..best used overnite as the patches have a few hours to work..i think they are great! Available at health food stores.

Hi Everyone,

I've had severe foot problems and recently found that a sea salt foot scrub with peppermint is very soothing. Also, I never miss a day when I don't rub peppermint foot cream on on feet. It's the only thing that has helped me.:D

My feet have swollen up and i am trying to get the swelling down so if anyone knows what will help please let me know.
My shoes don't fix anymore and i have to go back to work Monday so i really am in bad shape.

I used Puripatch patches which contain 100% natural ingredients, essential oils including mandarin wood extract, tourmailine, geranium and mineral crystals which assist the body in removing heavy metals, chemicals etc from your system..in reflexology each organ or part of the body relates to specific point in the foot through a vast network of nerves.. toxins are released from areas of the body through the patch. The patch is applied to the bottom of the foot like a large bandage and draws out toxins..they are best worn overnight for at least 6-8 hours. Having used them for over 10 days in a row I can only speak for myself that they seemed to work well for me..i felt more energized and slept better than I had previously..there are other ways of detoxing and dry brushing the skin is also very good..I dont know that people can really call the patches a scam if they have not tried them themselves but I do think any form of detoxing that removes toxins is a good thing no matter what form a person uses to do it.

I was curious and I tried a brand of detox foot pads called Kynoki (?) I found at the CVS drugstore As Seen On TV section. The label listed bamboo vinegar as an ingredient. Anywho, my pads never got really dark nor did they ever clear up during the two week trial. They stayed a consistent medium to light gray color. I slept really great but can't say how much detox was really going on.

I agree with the not so useful comments.

I have used them and yes they did turn color but I believe that is mostly from your feet sweating a bit a night even if you dont realize they do.

I was curious and took one and splashed a bit of water on it and the same thing happened...

For cleansing purposes there are much better things you could spend your money on IMHO

One reflexology forum I belong to has a concensus that these are not useful, possibly even harmful.
I tried them once during my reflexology training but definitely would not spend money on them.

Have you eaten anything that would give you a higher percentage of sodium that you would usually take in? ....MMMM...
parsley- buy a bunch and chop and eat with tomatoes or maybe in a a salad
cucumber
watermelon
(natural diuretics)
dandelion (I take the herb as a tea-excellent for this and won't rob your body of too much potassium)

I love parsley, it's a real wonder....lots of pure water and exercise helps too; I don't know if you have any health conditions but the foods above are pretty gentle but great natural diuretics (parsley is really awesome)... I say hit that parsley up asap and drink plenty of liquids and keep feet elevated and see what happens

SusyQ, over the course of the 10 days, did the patches become "less black", indicating that fewer toxins were in your body that were available to be pulled out? Just curious.

Thanks.

i've heard of that too! my bf works at a pet store and this asian couple came in to see if they can buy that fish.... they say it's common practice in wherever they're from and people love it hmm

I bought one of those old-fashioned vibrating foot baths from a thrift store; they're pretty easy to find. I give myself a foot bath with hot water and epsom salts but I'm wondering if I could add in any herbs. Any suggestions?

I tried those foot patches that draw the toxins out of your body and the next day I had HUGE hives on my calves. They looked terrible!

I don't dare try them a second time because I think I must have been allergic to something in the formula.

i've heard/read from several diffenent sources that the ionic foot bath and the foot pads are total scams. there are lots of articles to read about this on the web, just google it.
