View Full Version : I need a substitute for chocolate!

I need something to replace my biggest weakness!!! Chocolate. I just can't resist chocolate. I have made a couple of the raw fudges, but they all have nuts in them. I prefer my chocolate....smooth! :p

Would omitting the nuts in most raw fudge recipes work? I was afraid the fudge might not hold itself together.

I did make Alissa's Almond Butter Balls and they do come close to helping with my weakness for chocolate.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks, Jodi

Once, I threw some things in the food processor, and it came out pretty chocolatey. I put in coconut oil, carob, dates and cherries. They were delicious. I froze them in a cake pan and then just sliced some, when I wanted to eat. You could also just put it in the refrigerator, and it would not be so firm.

Blessings.

This recipe is from someone on this board (sorry, can't remember who) and it is what keeps me raw when I crave chocolate. It is out of this world!!

RAW CHOCOLATE

1 cup raw cacoa nibs finely ground in coffee grinder, set aside in bowl
1/2 cup raw carob powder
1 cup raw coconut oil (liquified)
1/4 cup raw almond butter
3/8 cup( 1/4 cup, then 1/2 of 1/4 cup) raw agave nectar
1 cup chopped walnut pieces (or the nut of your choice) opt.

In Vitamix, blend together almond butter, agave nectar, and coconut oil on low. Slowly pour in both carob and cacoa powder till well blended. Fold in walnuts. Pour mixture in cookie pan (or large glass casserole dish). Spread evenly in pan. Place in fridge to harden for 1 hour. Cut up with knife or cookie cutter and place in sealed container. Keep in fridge.
