I still haven't bought one but I want one. I have already done a search here and not found much about them. I have read a bit about the Oxo and the Benriner mandolines. If anyone reads this and has a mandoline they swear by - especially either one of these - would you please make some comments about it? Thank you very much. Oh yes, I already know about the "cut-glove" and that sounds like a wonderful idea and I would also order that.:)

I LOVE Oxo products. They are nice, nice, nice, well made and sturdy. I however have a pampered chef mandoline. But, if I would've known, I would've gotten an Oxo. I did get this mandoline years ago...

I threw my mandoline out when I got my new Cuisinart food processor, a processor with the discs can do pretty much everything a mandoline does but much faster. Cuisinarts have discs that slice from ultra thin 1mm to ultra thick 8mm, some make french fry cuts automatically, grate, shred, etc.

Maybe I didn't see it Care4raw. I'll will look again. Thank you. Okay - yes I did read it and now I have re-read it more carefully and taken notes to check out some of those mentioned.
raweater, I already have a Robot Coupe food processor and until it quits, I will be keeping it. And I really want a mandoline. Thanks for your input!
veganforlife, yes, I read a great review on Google about the Oxo and it really sounded like the one I am likely going to order. But I will still look around a bit more. Thanks!

I just bought this Zyliss one a month or so ago. http://www.amazon.com/Zyliss-Easy-Slice-Folding-Mandoline/dp/B000HVDZU4
It got good reviews on amazon and I like it also. And it's cheap! :) My only complaint is the julienne feature cuts things very thickly and I was hoping for something much, much thinner. I have also managed to cut my finger pretty good with it, but I was being dumb and not using the food pusher thing. I figured I'd just be 'careful' but apparently not!
