My dad, back in Ukraine, got pneumonia.. they caught it and started with the antibiotics (they inject it into..er well his behind) :( uh i'm so sad

So i would like to ask what natural remedies/foods are good to help fight this thing? pneumonia is serious business and i'm not telling him to stop the antibiotics. But i also hope someone can recommend what else he can do? He has his own business and unfortunatly can't just rest the whole day. he tries to relax at home at least half of the day, he just can't leave work on anyone else so yea...

I adviced to eat lots of garlic!

any help would be appreciated! :o

homeopathy works wonders and can be used with antibiotics. I would also recommend the wet sock treatment. Best of luck to him!

Pneumonia like all other acute and chronic illnesses is a result of a toxic state of the body due to poor food choices and lifestyle habits. Pneumonia is just the next step in the eventual decline of health after colds and the flu. The good news is that your Dad can easily overcome it in a few days with fasting on water or fresh raw juices and bed rest. If fasting is too intimidating for him, he should eat lightly of fresh raw fruit along with the bed rest.

Antibiotics are bad news! They will only make him more toxic and help pave they way to an eventual full health breakdown and chronic illness such as cancer. He needs to change his lifestyle. Mainly fresh raw fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds. No meat, dairy, grains, alcohol, junk food, etc.
Of course, if he doesn't want to do any of this, then he will need to accept the decline of his health, just like everyone else who lives the typical western lifestyle and eats the SAD diet.

uh thanks for saying things as they are. his ukrainian diet is not nearly as horrible as SAD, but there IS a lot of dairy ...besides, little by little my country is adapting American eating patterns together with its prominent health problems

Honestly, though, i'm afraid to have him stop the aitibiotics. I know they're bad, but i know several people who diet of pneumonia because the medication started too late- if i was knowledgeable in the right herbs and potent natural methods for pheumonia. Well, i hope that makes sence. He's trying hard to change his lifestyle now, i can't wait to visit my family and show them how delicious raw can be!!

Riiiya,
Don't worry about herbs or other so called remedies and cures. Only the body can heal itself. If left to it's own resources while fasting or eating a pure raw diet, your father will be rid of the pneumonia in no time. It is really quite simple. Herbs are like drugs. They will only relieve the symptoms temporarily as the body diverts it's energy from dealing with pneumonia to dealing with the new toxins in the herbs.

Have faith in the body and nature to heal!

My sister had that last year and did not improve until she had powdered greens added to her juices. I don't remember the brands of the powders that she used, but she used several of the powdered greens that are sold in health food stores.

Garlic is known to help, also, avoid dairy, dairy is notorious for causing mucous, even profesional singers will avoid dairy because of the mucous.

Before raw food, i had a tendancy to get that many times.

I never did take ever anti-biotic and only taking raw garlic with water. I will have fresh orange juice and lemon juice. Now, the greens are doing the trick

Take a small piece of garlic, cut it into very small piece and only swallow it with water. Do three time a day.

Well now, i haven't had a cold since last year but if i would, i would do self healing with taking garlic as well. If you know someone that practice Radiance Technique (it is a form of Reiki but this is more powerful), this healing modality has cured many unbelievable condition in me.

Best wishes

I definitely told him about GREEN SMOOTHIES and eating more GREENS!!! Also garlic of course... we sure do love garlic!

I just realized something..it seems like we'be been scared to DEATH with pneumonia over in Ukraine... hmmm here people tell me to try different things, at home we dread NOT taking antibiotics for it even though we know that it's horrible and a last resort. I know that people in different countries are being conditioned to view same diseases differently. It seems like pneumonia just scares the heck out of us!

:( I developed Pneumonia last year ofter being raw for a year and doing all the right things(lots of green smoothies and juices ect.) I just could not have tried any harder but I was ill for 4 months and had to take anti-biotics as a last resort and started to feel better shortly after taking them. This still puzzles me as before totally raw my diet was very high raw for many years.

I think it's really important to realize that a year of raw does not undo a lifetime of SAD. It can take up to seven years for all of hte cells to change. Re-instituting proper gut flora and function does not necessarily happen in a year. Beyind that if you are trying to restore pre-existing damage then even after a year or two on raw you can still be quite deficient.

Doing all the "right things" now doesn't make up for decades of wrong things. Every day gets you closer, and our bodies are miraculous. But let's remember to cut them some slack. They are contending with quite a lot. ;)

This is the same thing I say to so many clients and parents in general. Even if you are raising your kids on raw from go there can still be issues if they were grown in a deficient body, and most are. You can regulate, but it is a journey and does take time. You will get there, but there may nees to be some supportive measures in the mean time.

Thank's for the reply, Yes I ate rubbish growing up (Blue Ice lollie anyone) but did like to eat the occasional wild green, I am still trying to undo the damage the anti-biotics has done to my digestion I guess I still have a long way to go.

Who knows how long? The point is you are getting there. You are using food as medicine and empowering yourself. You are learning alot about how important proper nutrition is, and experience is the best teacher. I'd wager that since you have gone through this you are intimately connected to what damage can be done by meds and poor dietary habits. It's contrast. Ultimately you can wallow in how it didn't work, or you can look back and see how far you've come and how LUCKY you were that you were raw for so long before getting pneumonia.

You know something? In natural medicine there is a concept of healing crises. Basically what happens is as your body heals and you begin dumping all the junk it will use a viral or bacterial infection as a tool to help clear out the crap that is lingering. Really, that bout of pneumonia could have been a huge blessing. The reality is, no matter which way you look at it you are stronger for having had it and likely alot "cleaner" as well. Keep up the good work. As hard as it is, please just know that sickness is very rarely a bad thing. It is a very helpful tool. The best thing you can do is allow it knowing that it is serving a purpose. You can assist your body, but really it tends to know what it is doing. :)

I also just wanted to say that even though it sounds like semantics, instead of trying to undo the damage focus on creating health. It's a big difference in the grand scheme of things. Keeps your focus on health instead of damage. You will always move towards what you are paying attention to.

Postural drainage, vibrations, and chest percussions will help loosen mucus and keep airways open. The use of a vaporizer, keeping well hydrated, and lots of warm teas and soups will also help. Hope your father feels better soon ~ Cathy

I just wanted to mention...while nutrition is a HUGE part of being healthy- i guess we shouldn't forget about emotions and environment.... emotions has a huge inpact on our physical body and health. Gosh, we all know what just stress can do :)

THANKS EVERYONE! all the valuable info is going straight to Ukraine hehehe
