I am thinking about deep cleaning my digestive tract with ground raw, organic flax seeds.

Has anyone done this?

I was thinking of drinking a quart of luke warm water first thing in the morning on an empty stomache, then eating 1/8-1/4 cup of the ground flax seeds and then more water to see if it would give me a good cleaning out.

Any suggestions, warnings or comments about this cleansing method? I have never done it before.

Thanks in advance!

I have eaten ground flax by the teaspoon, and had no ill effects, but it wasn't on an empty stomach...I should think you'd be allright, tho.

Best of raw health to you!

I haven't done any particular flax cleansing method -- but I do regularly grind it, then eat it by the spoonful, on top of a salad, or in various recipes. I found when I upped my workout difficulty recently, I suddenly had some very strong cravings for lots of flax.

Then they waned.

I don't know if that's helpful. I did have more bowel movements when I first began to take in flax. It has also been very filling for me and feels the same way as eating good bread in that it's simple to digest for me and would even be okay on an upset stomach.

Let us know how it goes.
