Are there any recommendations for smoothies, or other recipes that help rid the body of inflammation?

Thanks

One way is to add ginger root to your smoothies

The best things that I know of for inflammation are:

Omega 3 oils - from flax for true vegans and from fish oil for others
Bromelain - this is an enzyme derived from pinapples. But by the time you eat enough pinapples to get the right amount you'd probably burn the inside of your mouth up.

Also, depending on if the inflammation is of the respiratory system, nigella sativa (black seed) is really good for asthma, brochitis, etc.

Also, be sure to stay away from caffiene, white potatoes (big no no), white rice and white flour.

Drink lots of water, and try to exercise daily. A nice walk is good. No need for vigorous sweaty exercise...just enough to get the blood flowing well.

Also, rebounding is very good for moving stagnant lymph throughout the system. There is a long thread here somewhere regarding rebounding.

Oh, and the new big deal is a supplement called Zyflmen (sp?) by New Chapter products. Many are using this for inflammation. You can learn more about Zyflemen specifically at ilness is optional dot com. This is a natural pharmaceutical company in Baltimore, MD. They only do natural herbs, etc but the "pharmacist" is actually a licensed pharmacist. He just does not practice conventional medicine any longer. They take calls also.

Hope this helps!

What kind of inflammation? If you are referring to greenish mucous (anywhere in the body), then the homeopathic remedy Pulsatilla should help.

When i injured my shoulder last year, my sister who is a nurse told me to take ommega 3 oil for the inflamation. So i went to buy pumpkin oil and hemps seed oil. I saw a difference the next day.

If the inflamation is caused by injuries, if possible, also, apply cold, apply hot and alternate, it will stimulate the blood flow and therefore help to heal quicker.

Best wishes!
