Does anyone have any suggestions for smoothies that will help "rehydrate" the body? I try to get water in....but it seems to leave as soon as it goes in (sorry) I need a good smoothie recipe that will hydrate, and nourish my skin.
Any suggestions?
thanks

Hi there,
I have had the same problem and am glad you've brought it up. I look forward to seeing if anyone has any informative replies.
I haven't understood why if I'm eating raw (without much dehydrated foods), and drink lots of water, how I could possibly feel to dehydrated....
Good luck.

I think if you're juicing and eating whole fruits and vegetables you're already getting a healthy dose of hydration...
Straight cucumber juice is wonderful for hydration and for the skin
I found the same with celery juice and just green smoothies in general and eating lots of big leafy greens when I'm in salad mode
I try to drink at least a liter of water a day, but I sometimes do not. I'm still running to the bathroom relieving my bladder nonetheless which tells me I'm getting plenty hydrated even in extreme hot weather
Perhaps your body is just finding its balance...over time you may find you'll need less water as you increase the water content of the food you're eating naturally
Just my thoughts based on my personal experience with the hydration thing, I'm sure other rawbies have other experiences.
Fresh young coconut water is the single best hydrating liquid you can drink. It is also delicious... *drools*

Soaked chia seeds. I start my day drinking a quart of water and then down 4 tablespoons soaked chia seeds. Yes, add them to your smoothie - they are little tiny bladders of water! Great stuff!

I second this. Drinking coconut water is like receiving a blood transfusion. It is the closest to our blood chemistry...this and chloryphyll. Coconut water is like natural gator ade, and restores electrolyte balance. I believe it was actually used for transfusions back in the day.
Hope this helps.
