Hi. I have a excalibur dehydrator and was wondering if it is safe to leave it on all day while I am at work and nobody is at home? I have a fear of leaving it on and would like to hear from others.
Thanks.

Leave it on. Nothing would ever dry if we had to turn it off every time we went out.

When I got mine I thought it would be this hot thing that would burst into flames if the food got too dry. For raw food the temperature's very low.
I'm one of those people that checks if the front door's locked five times on leaving the house and (used to) check the gas hobs too. I'm quite happy with the Excalibur being left alone.

I agree with everyone else... I too leave mine on - Hawaii has a high humidity and if I had to turn it off everytime I couldn't be there to watch it - nothing would ever get dehydrated!!
no worries... ;)
