are the raw nuts sold at whole foods and trader joes really raw?
when i start my raw diet again i want to make sure that i am getting nuts that have not been steam heated.

where does everyone get their raw nuts and are you getting a good price on them? i try not to buy online too often but sometimes i have to.

thanks

This is a topic that has been covered numerous times. If you do a search using either the banana or the search key up in the green bar above, you'll find answers. But real quick. I get mine at www.nutsonline.com
or from www.rawfromthefarm.com
I'm sure others will tell you where they get theirs...
I'm not sure about TJ's or WF's. I don't have one nearby.

The sunflower and flax seeds that I get from Wholefoods sprout, so I assume they must be raw. I think all the raw nuts at wholefoods are truly raw with the exception of the almonds and cashews.
Nuts (excluding almonds) from Costco are raw and they are quite affordable, too.

Sunflower seeds and flax seeds are not normally heated in processing. Walnuts, pecans, and brazils are heated for drying purposed so the ones you will find at Whole Foods (in my experience after asking lots of questions) are not raw.

ahhh thats what i was thinking....that maybe the drying process would be a high heat process. thats disappointing because they do have a fine selection of raw nuts as does trader joes. pity.
ok thanks for your info.
