Hi everyone. I'm back on raw, as of yesterday. I started my 30 day journal. Please visit and leave lots of comments. I need lots of support getting over my emotional attachment to cooked foods. Also, I seem to go to one extreme to the other with my eating, and hubby is starting to give me a hard time. He doesn't think raw is bad, he just thinks I won't stick with it, just like everything else.

By the way, my name is Teresa, I'm 27 years old. I live in Florida, but I'm from Michigan. I need to lose about 100 pounds. I have blood sugar problems. Not diabetes, but hypoglycemia. My moods go up and down with my blood sugar. Was anyone else in a similar situation before raw? Will raw help heal my blood sugar problems? Anything in particular I should focus on?

Thanks, and like I said, check out my journal.

Hi Teresa!
Welcome to the board!
What I have figured out since going raw is that for all the times I thought I had "official" low blood sugar issues, it was actually my body's response to all the horrible stuff I was eating.
Since I have eaten only raw, I have zero, nada, zilch blood sugar issues, and no pms symptoms.
Good luck, and have fun with raw. It truly is the easiest and funnest lifestyle!
Hugs,
Alicia

Hi Teresa - I too have blood sugar issues and have had since I was a teenager - about 25 years. I'm still in the process of tweaking how I do raw to handle the symptoms and conditions that go along with low blood sugar. My body responds well to dulse, kombucha and Thai coconut water. It also likes arugula but I don't really like the taste and haven't found the baby arugula that is less strong. Kombucha and TCW are great because they are both sweet without affecting the blood sugar while providing numerous benefits to the system.
