Hi! My name is April. I am 19 years old, and just recently heard about the raw food craze. I was on vacation last week and my husband's aunt told me about how she had started the raw food diet 3 weeks prior, and had already lost 11 pounds! And I was completely intrigued.

I don't consider myself "obese" or "fat". I consider myself UNHEALTHY. Ever since I got married, the attention that I paid to my body went out the window. I was more focused on caring for my husband, making sure he was happy and that bills were paid and what not, that I wasn't doing anything to keep myself healthy. And almost a year later I finally took a good look in the mirror and realized I was not being kind to my body. And since I only have one life to live, I might as well try to look my best while doing so :D

I've dieted and exercised and it always seems to never work, due to the fact I always find myself breaking my diet because I never really set out what I can and can't eat. I love working out at the gym and pumping iron, but it is very hard for me to stick to a diet. I love fruits and veggies like no other, so hopefully this should be easy for me to stick with.

If anyone has any suggestions for things such as motivation, recipes, workouts, etc. pleeeaaassseee educate me! I am a newbie :D

My biggest suggestion would be to get Alissa's book and DVD....then you'll really know what the raw food lifestyle is all about. She also like to pump iron. Good Luck!!!

Hi April!

I'm new too, I'm looking forward to making this journey with you and everyone!

There are tons of resources online, and tons of blogs/journals so you can get a picture of the real experiences people are really having. I also like to watch youtube vids of how to make certain basic raw foods.

Good luck!
